#124 Our Holy Prayer Warfare

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: We are at War. In the mystery Christ won once for all at Calvary is not enforced by his iron scepter with which He will one day put down all evil (Rev. 2:27; 12:5; 19:15).

The throne of Christ today and until the end of the age is an intercessory throne. Christ is ruling by intercession. He is defeating Satan, driving him back, ousting him, making him flee from where he has been illegally squatting and refusing to vacate. (Google image, Warfare prayer ).

#123 Prayer the Nemesis of Satan

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: There is nothing on earth that Satan so fears as prayer. He does not know how to cope with prayer, so he concentrates on keeping you from prayer or getting you to give up before you get prayer's answer.

He can often manipulate persons and circumstance so as to delay prayer's answers, but he cannot stop the angels from bringing God's answers. Prayer is his nemesis [torment]. He cannot triumph over prevailing prayer. (Google image, Early morning prayer)

God's Refining Fires

James H. Cagle- The Bible says, “The refining pot is for silver,
and the furnace for gold: but the Lord trieth the hearts” (Pr.17:3).
And, “But he (God) knoweth the way that I take: when he
hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold”
(Job 23:10). (Google image, Refining fire)

#122 The Limitations of Satan

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: Do not be ignorant of Satan or his ways (2 Cor. 2:11). You need to understand Satan's limitations.

Many Christians have a morbid fear of the Devil. Remember, he is a created being who is already under the wrath of God, defeated at Calvary by Christ, and whose doom is already announced in the Bible.

#121 Prayer Warfare Defeats Satan

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: Prayer warfare is the seventh and highest level of prevailing prayer. It is the prolonged, intensified form of prevailing prayer focused on defeating and routing Satan so that Christ's will may be done and His kingdom advanced. Cherish them . . . While You Can

Ron HutchcraftIt was my first Valentine's Day without the love of my life since I was 18.

I found the Valentine card I sent to her two years ago. In it, I wrote: "I have never loved you more. You never cease to amaze me, amuse me, and captivate me." (Google image, Cherish them while you can).

#120 We Are Most Godlike When we Share God's Travail

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: Our prayer travail, prayer groaning, and prayer agony can never compare with that of our Savior, but we have not followed Christ very closely or very far if we do not know in our own prayer experience times of deep prayer burden, prayer wrestling, and even perhaps prayer agony. Google image, Praying hands)

#119 Prayer Agony is Godlike

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: Do you begin to realize why Spirit-born prayer agony is so precious to God, so powerful before God, and so dreaded by all the demon forces of hell?

The Philistines of Beth Shemesh cried in terror,  "Who can stand in the presence of the LORD, this holy God?" (Sam. 6:20). Even so, the demons in hell must cry or shriek to one another, "Who can withstand such prevailing before God?" (Google image, Agony of Jesus)

Where is Your Trust?

How often do we place ourselves
Just where we need to be
With open hearts and scriptures
Silently on bended knee

Preparing for the message
God would have us share with men
Who thinking they are righteous
Still confuse the Truth with sin

#118 Prayer Groans and Prayer Agony

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: Prayer Groaning is Spirit-born. The Holy Spirit in His mighty prevailing for us prays with unutterable groaning. The word for "groan" in Romans 8:26 is stenagmos.

It is an inward groaning, and it is in the plural. Alaletos is the word meaning "inexpressible." The heart-cry of the Spirit is too deep for human words. It therefore becomes groanings within our hearts that manifest a prayer desire so infinite that it is incapable of being totally expressed. (Google image, Photo credit: Blogspot.com)

#117 Wrestlers with God

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: Over the centuries men and women of God have known in their experience what it means to wrestle in prayer and obtain God's mighty answers.

Some have wrestled and almost immediately gained outstanding, even miraculous, answers to their prayers. Others have had special times of wrestling before God and have seen their whole lives and ministry thereafter transformed.

Still Waiting

Lisa Buffaloe: Waiting is not easy. My body can be sitting still, but my brain races in a thousand different directions.

I want to try and figure out each step and what that step may mean and where the next step will lead. Life becomes all about me; thinking I have to perform and do and be, and jump through hoops, and pray, and analyze, and do, do, do, do as much as I can do, instead of resting and trusting.

#116 Holy Wrestlers

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: Wrestling with whom? While our primary resistance in wrestling prayer comes from Satan, does God, as it were, wrestle with us?

There are many men of God who believe that God does, though others deny this. Does the wrestling of Jacob teach us that God can oppose us until we make some things in our life right with God and men? (Google image, Jacob wrestling with God's angel)
