Multiplied Generosity

Sheridan Voysey: "Cheryl was in for a surprise as she pulled up to deliver her next pizza. Expecting to arrive at a home, she instead found herself outside a church.

Cheryl confusedly carried the pepperoni pizza inside, where she was met by the pastor. (Google image, Pizza girl).

#22 How Spiritual Power is Depleted or Lost 1-4

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: Jesus Christ did not begin His ministry until He received a special bestowal of Holy Spirit power. Hear His words: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach" Luke 4:10:18).

Peter summarized Christ's ministry by saying, "God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power" (Acts 10:38). (Google image, Jesus walking with disciples (slide 20)).

#21 Depleted Spiritual Power Can Be Renewed

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: When the Holy Spirit fills us He imparts purity and power.

The person who dedicates his all as a living sacrifice in absolute surrender (the term Andrew Murry loved to use) and asks for and trusts for the Spirit's infilling is given a new dimension of spiritual life.

The Holy Spirit cleanses and makes one pure in the inner person to a degree he never knew before, and in the same moment fills with a divinely greater power. (Google image, Couple praying).

Light Us Up!

Lisa Buffaloe-While praying for a friend’s upcoming ministry conference, in my spirit I could “see” a dark place, a place with much opposition.

I felt there was much hard ground to navigate, much darkness, but as I prayed I could "see" a crack in the earth, a dark crack opening and the opposition falling in. Then, God's light came blazing forth from the crack getting brighter and brighter as the crack grew wider and wider.

#20 Do You Lack Spiritual Power?

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: Over many a Christian leader's record could be stamped these words: LACKS POWER.

Why do so many ministers and lay leaders have a vague restless awareness that something is lacking in their leadership?

They have had adequate training; they make all the needed preparation; they work faithfully and hard. But it all remains largely on the human level. (Google image, Preacher and church)

#19 You Need Repeated Empowering

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: The more you experience God's power working in your life and through your ministry, the more you will sense your repeated need of the Spirit's new touch.

The Holy Spirit is leading you into this deep awareness of your need and your joy in the Spirit's availability to you. (Google image, Prayer with intention).

Our Challenge: A Sanctified Life

Jean OathoutWhen we hear that Jesus paid the price for our redemption from our sins through His blood shed on Calvary, and we believe and receive it, there is a process called sanctification which takes place.

Father God applies Christ Jesus' blood to us and we're covered and challenged to live out our lives to honor Him. (Google image, Preaching God's Word).

#18 At Times God's Convicting Power Fell

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: People began to weep as they walked along. Some were prostrated by the power of God while they were alone in their fields or at their weaving looms. Some walked the roads at night, unable to sleep because of such deep conviction of sin. (Google image, When God Breaks In).

#17 God's Power in the Ministry of Duncan Campbell

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: My dear friend, the Rev. Duncan Campbell, minister of the United Free Church of Scotland, was mightily used in the Hebrides revival which began in December 1949 and continued in several waves in succeeding years.

Perhaps no minister of this century experienced so many remarkable manifestations of the power of the Lord.  He was not a part of the charismatic movement, and there was no emphasis upon gift manifestations. To the day of his death in 1972 he remained the humble prophet of the Lord. (Google image, John D. Campbell)

The Path Home

How few there be that understand the path in which we trod
The path that God has made for us while living on this sod
The path that's straight and narrow often painful to our feet
But when we navigate it by God's grace there's no defeat

#16 Widespread Effect of Finney's Ministry

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: About 1830, according to the estimate of Dr. Henry Ward Beecher, at least 100,000 were converted and joined the churches in one year through the Finney-related revivals and their spreading influence.

Probably this was the greatest harvest since Pentecost. (Google image, The secret of Finney's success, by Gordon C. Olson)

#15 How the Power was Manifested

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: 1. Power was manifested in Holy Spirit-given conviction. Through Finney's ministry the power of the Lord was manifested in overwhelming conviction of sin and spiritual need.

While one normally thinks of such conviction leading to the convicted person's loss of appetite or desire to sleep, in Finney's ministry people were even more powerfully seized by the Spirit. (Google image, Benny Hinn's Falling under the Holy Spirit).

What Was Done

Lisa Buffaloe- What was done to me in my past by others — the sins they committed against me, the wrong done by them against me . . .
What was done by me — the sins I committed, the wrong turns I made . . .

What was done is replaced by what was done on the cross by Jesus Christ. Through Jesus, what was done is healed, restored, forgiven, and renewed. (Photo credit).
