#58 The Day of Accountability is Coming

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: The most important day in the future of every believer is the judgment day. Paul makes Jesus' teaching clear—that we must each be ready for that day.

"We will all stand before God's judgment seat. It is written: 'As surely as I live,' says the Lord,' every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.' So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God" (Rom. 14:10-12).(Google image, Court)

#57 The Two-fold Role of Every Christian Leader

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: You as a Christian leader or pastor have a twofold responsibility for every believer under your supervision.

You have other responsibilities—the evangelism of the unsaved, representing your group before the community and government, intercession for God's plan for your denomination or organization, for your nation and for the world. But you have two special responsibilities for your own members. (Google image, Preacher)

God's Loving Pursuit

Max Lucado- "Dare we envision a God who follows us? Who pursues us? Who chases us? Who tracks us down and wins us over? Who follows us with "goodness and mercy" all the days of our lives? (Google image, He Loves you so).

#56 Two Great Ages for the Church

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: For all humankind, history is divided into time and eternity. Our state in eternity will depend on what we do with our time. We refer to time as "here," and eternity as the "hereafter."

The separation point is death. For any individual life until death is his time; after death is his eternity. Time is brief at best; eternity is endless. Time is for sowing; eternity is eternal reaping. (Google image, Coffin)

#55 Prepare Your People for Eternal Reward

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: God intended that Israel should be a kingdom of priests (Exod. 19:6). Israel's people were to be God's means of blessing to the whole world (Gen. 12:2-3).

They were also to be God's witnesses (Is. 43:12). Israel tragically failed God's purpose in both. Other than some psalms, we see no record of their praying for the salvation of the nations. (Google image, Israel flag).

Awakening

 Awakening
By Lee Forbes

So many held in bondage to a thing they cannot see
While searching in an empty box for some false deity
That has no cause or purpose nor an heart that understands
The trials of the common life with all of its demands

But many oh so many while they're searching in their mind
For some great source of comfort that the world can never find
Would give their heart to Jesus if in others they could see
The joy of being Christians at this time in History

For now yes more than ever that the world has known before
The Saviour stands awaiting at the threshold of the door
And calling to His people longs for them to truly see
The daily real fulfillment of this time in prophesy

As time is quickly closing for probation's hour to cease
And Satan will be loosed to quickly take away all pease
And trials and tribulation like this world has never known
Will in the earth and heavens by his evil might be shown

And only those who see him through the counsel of God's Word
Will know this great deceiver for the lies that will be heard
And will with Godly virtue stand against the evil fight
A people born of Godly grace adorned with Godly might

That will not bow to evil nor surrender to the one
Who worked through endless ages to destroy the Father's Son
But will in glorious victory stand firm upon the cross
Where died the Lamb of Sacrifice just once to save the lost

But thereon hangs no longer as He is our God and King
And soon will come in glory to accept the offering
Of those who will be waiting when His glory splits the sky
To take His precious people to the Place they'll never die

But if we do not tell them if we do not give them word
How can they find the answer if the answer's never heard
How can they be delivered from the bondage of their sin
Awakened to the knowledge of the empty box they're in

So now my friend stop waiting for the opportunity
Ask God to show you quickly in the people that you see
How you might be His channel in His work to save their soul
As you will find in doing you will also be made whole

Daniel 12:1-3; Revelation 3:14-21

Young praying man

Father, so many folks are in bondage to a thing they cannot see, hoping that it will help with the trials of the common life.
The truth is that they're searching in their minds for some source of comfort that they'll not find outside of giving their hearts to Jesus Christ.
Only those who see what Satan has been doing with his lies, are they able to stand firmly upon the cross where Jesus died; the one Who was the Lamb of Sacrifice for us.

If we do not tell them, if we do not give them word, how can they find the answer if the answer's never heard? How can they be delivered from the bondage of their sin?
Our God and King, Jesus, will soon come in glory for those waiting for Him to split the sky, to take His precious people to the Place they'll never die.
So may we be examples of His grace, to search for those who are tired of empty "boxes," which give no rest or satisfaction for their hungry souls.
I ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.

Today's Bible verses-

Ps. 121:7, 8 (KJV) "The LORD shall preserve thee from
all evil: he shall preserve they soul. (8) The LORD shalll
preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time
       forth, and even for evermore."

Ps. 86:11 (KJV) "Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will
walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name."

Ps. 71:1 (KJV) "In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust:
let me never be put to confusion."

Today's quote-

~ John C. Maxwell- "Teachability is an attitude, a mind-set that says, 'No matter how much I know (or think I know), I can learn from this situation.' That kind of thinking can help you turn adversity into advantage. It can make you a winner even during the most difficult circumstances. Sydney Harris sums up the elements of a teachable mind-set: 'A winner knows how much he still has to learn, even when he is considered an expert by others. A loser wants to be considered an expert by others before he has learned enough to know how little he knows.' " (Failing Forward by John C. Maxwell, p. 140).

#54 You will be Accountable for Your Prayer Life

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: The foundation on which all ministry and leadership is built is your prayer life. Your leadership is never greater than your prayers.

Successful leadership requires much more than prayer, but no leadership can ever be ultimately successful apart from much prayer. (Google image, Man at altar)

#53 You will be Accountable for Your Example

Does God Know You?

Jean Oathout: It's often said that a person is saved when they believe that Jesus died and rose again, and that they are sure of their salvation because of it.

But, is that sufficient? Let's check out what God's Word has to say about it, okay? Remember, the demons believe this and tremble, but it doesn't begin to save them.

#52 You Will be more Accountable than Your People

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: James warns us, "Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly" (James 3:1).

In the very next verse he adds that we all stumble in many ways. Are you stumbling "in many ways"? (Google image, Teacher clipart)

#51 Your Accountability as a Leader, Part 2

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: We continue our discussion of leaders' responsibility to God and their people.

You will be accountable to practice what you say.

Jesus commanded us not to be like the Pharisees. "They do not practice what they preach" (Matt. 23:3-4). Bishop Ryle comments,
"So long as the world stands, this chapter ought to be a warning and a beacon to all ministers of religion. No sins are so sinful as theirs in the sight of Christ." (Google image, Pastors keep going through hard times)

The Trouble With Religion

Ron Hutchcraft: "It's that time of year again. When a lot of us are feeling - well, religious.

You've got Lent. And Good Friday services. And Easter services. And if you're Jewish, the millennia-old observance of Passover.

#50 You Will be Accountable to Warn of Dangers

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: God made clear to Ezekiel that his role as a prophet made him responsible for the eternal destiny of those he contacted.

   a. You are responsible to see as God sees. At the very beginning of Jeremiah's ministry God gave him a vision and then asked him, "What so you see?" (Jer. 1:11). (Google image, Ezekiel's vision

#49 You will be Accountable for Your Sleeplessness as a Watchman

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel- A sleepy watchman is a danger. The last thing he dare do is to sleep. A soldier on guard who goes to sleep can be sentenced to death. Why? He is a danger to everyone in the army.

You as a leader are a spiritual guard for your people. It is spiritually dangerous for your people for you to become spiritually drowsy. Guard duty is no laughing matter. It is a solemn responsibility to a leader. (Google image, Sleeping soldier
