#75 Your Responsibility to Intercede for Your People

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: God has given you no greater responsibility than that of interceding for your people. It is as urgent to bring your people before God in prayer as it is to bring God before your people in your messages.

You must intercede for your ministry, the services, and the outreach. But you must also intercede for your people family by family and person by person. (Calling men to pray).

Skywatcher

Tim Gustafson: "Unsettled by issues at work and at home, Matt decided to take a walk. The evening spring air beckoned.

As the infinite sky deepened from blue to black, a thickening fog spilled slowly over the marsh. Stars began to glimmer, heralding the full moon rising in the east.

The moment, for Matt, was deeply spiritual. He's there, he thought. God is there, and He's got this. (Night stars).

#74 Prepared Hearts Prepare Fruitful Messages

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: It is dangerous to put more thought than prayer into your sermon. The more talented, the better trained you are, the more you need to be a person of prayer lest you have more self-confidence than power.

     1. Receive God's guidance as to the Scripture passage and the subject through prayer. Robert Murray McCheyne said, "Give yourself to prayers . . . Get your texts from God, your thoughts, your words." (Google image, Hands of pastor in prayer).

#73 Your Prayer Must Saturate Message Preparation

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: Teaching God's Word or giving God's message must be a joint work of God and the speaker. God's part is as important as yours.

God's preparation of the speaker is both long-term and immediate. There is a sense in which every God-guided, God-anointed message has been a lifetime in preparation. Your heart-preparation builds upon your entire spiritual life and walk with God since your conversion. (Google image, How to study the Bible)

Hand in Hand

Toni CampbellCuriosity and wonder have captivated her inquisitive mind and she toddles off, wanting to explore.
While she is blissfully unaware of anything beyond her field of vision, I see the potential dangers. (Toni's picture)

#72 Prayer Prepares God's Blessing for Each Service

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: When many people pray intensely for the same thing, a massive prayer power is built up which will bring outstanding blessing.

This is important for the church services. Whether lay person or minister, you can help make each service a maximum blessing.

#71 Your Prayer Controls Your Work

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: As a leader your usefulness is dependent upon your prayer. Nothing brings more blessing and effectiveness as you visit your people.

Nothing puts more of the seal of God upon you before the community. Nothing does more to win the hearts of your people or give you more spiritual stature and respected leadership than your prayer life. Google image, Lessons on prayer.)

What Difference Does He Make?

Sharon JaynesIf you were going off to war, and knew you’d be put on the front lines and probably wouldn’t be coming back home to your family, what would you tell them?

Think of the final instructions you’d give your children, the affirmation of your love you’d whisper to your spouse, and the words of endearment you’d share with your friends. (Google image, Soldier saying goodbye)

#70 You Are Responsible to Keep Strong & Blessed Through Prayer

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: Spiritual ministry demands spiritual power. The Holy Spirit is the source of all power, and He is given in answer to prayer.

"If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him" (Luke 11:13).

#69 Your Prayer Life as a Leader

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: "Great praying," wrote E. M. Bounds, "is the sign and seal of God's great leaders." What should be the role of prayer in your life as a Christian leader?

The instant answer to this should be the answer the apostles gave. They decided to give themselves to two things: "We . . . will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word" (Acts 6:4).(Google image, Prayer for leaders).

What it Takes

Jean Oathout: We begin life self-centered. Over the years we begin to see that there's a challenge to love those around us who need our attention and love.

As we interact with others, we learn of a God Who loves us, and Who has proven His care for us.

#68 Prepare Your People by Teaching Them God's Word

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: One of your main responsibilities as a shepherd is to feed your flock (1 Peter 5:2). This was among the last exhortations Jesus gave before He ascended to heaven.

His threefold word to Peter was to feed both the lambs and the sheep (John 21:15-17). Bible truth is compared in Scripture to food. God's Word, especially in its more simple teachings, is compared to nourishing milk (Is. 55:1; Heb. 5:12; 1 Peter 2:2) (Google image, Jesus teaching).

#67 Leading a Person to Christ

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: Often in witnessing you do not have an obvious opportunity to lead the person to a personal experience of Christ. Look for opportunities to do so.

Don't be timid about bringing people to the point of decision, especially when you sense God is near as you witness. If you help them receive Christ, in heaven they will thank God and you that you were faithful to them. (Google image,  Talking with someone).
