Who Are You?

Who are you is the question Jesus asks of us today
Who are you do you really stop to listen when you pray
Who are you is there evidence that other folks can see
There's more than just the name you use that tells them you know Me

Who are you when the pressure of this life is hard to bear
When all your answers fail you and no other one is there
To listen to your heartache and the burden of your soul
As past events surround you with their guilt to take their toll

Upon you if you let them though by rights they have no part
Of those who truly have been giving Christ their broken heart
And letting Him remake it to what He would have them be
A soul redeemed at Calvary from sin and self set free

And who no longer answers to the name they had before
The name of Faithless Sinner as they know their Saviour bore
The burden of their guilt and shame upon that rugged cross
To cleanse them of the filthiness that stains the soul that's lost

And then instead accepts them as a person new in Him
Who to this day still ministers in heaven just for them
Attending to the building and the preparation there
For those who truly love Him and are instant now in prayer

To set in heaven's record firmly there the true report
That will be testified by Christ when comes our day in court
That we are who we claim to be new creatures born in Christ
Who by His grace stamps on our page His blood that paid the Price

So when He asks “Who are You?” we'll not hesitate or fear
We'll not ignore the evidence that He is moving here
Within our hearts to make us in His image just like God
To share His love with others who in feebleness still trod

The path of life they're living distant but not far away
From Him Who is still giving His pure grace to those who pray
Assuring them that heaven is but just a prayer from them
Who truly want to have that name that says they're one with Him

So friend if you're not ready to respond to Christ's request
Please linger in His presence before you must face the test
That's coming to establish if you are or not His own
A Christian bought and paid for one in Christ and Him alone
John 15:1-27

Let's pray-

Father, some things seem confusing to us, but with Your Holy Spirit's help, we will seek wisdom to understand what it is You want us to believe, say and do concerning the price that Christ paid for us.
The question asked of us today, as to who we say we are, should cause us to stop and listen to what the Spirit has to say.
When the pressures of life become hard to bear, and our answers fail us, and no one listens to our heartache and the burden of our soul, may we remember that Jesus offers Himself to us, to lead us to peace and the healing of our broken hearts. He will redeem our souls from sin and heal us, and set us free from sin through our faith in Him.
Thank You for the Salvation found only in Jesus Christ, the Way, Truth and the Life. It's in His name we pray, Amen.

Today's quote-

~ Germine Copeland- "God’s love is unconditional, and Jesus commanded us to love one another even as He loved us. This kind of love is defined in 1 Corinthians 13. Developing the God-kind of love enables you to put away childish self-protection techniques; denial, emotional isolation, and other walls of self-protection. They served a purpose when you were a child, but now that you are an adult you can put away those self-imposed walls which are rooted in fear, and risk loving others allowing them to know you for who you are. After many years of trying to love as I was commanded I discovered the secret to loving others. Every day that you live, love the Lord your God with your entire being – all that you are – your spirit, soul (mind, will, and emotions) and body. Then you can love others even as you love yourself."

Today's guest post:

Mom's Wise Decision

Norma Mezoe- "Mom’s family did not have much money.
At one time her family lived in a corncrib because their old farmhouse was destroyed by fire, and they had no other choice for a home. Although her years in school were few, Mom had a head filled with wisdom. When she was forty-three, she made the wisest decision of her life: to become a Christian . . .  Many things about Christianity cannot be explained, which causes some people to struggle with accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior. From the conception of Jesus through God’s Holy Spirit, to His birth to a virgin, to His resurrection from a cold dark tomb, and to His ascension into eternal life, the questioners don’t understand how these things can be . . . "

Words of wisdom-

~ Are you ready for service for the Lord? He may ask you to help someone, pray for someone, or provide for their need. We are God's hands and feet. Will you be ready for service when He calls?
