#111 Remember these Spiritual Realities

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: 1. The infilling of the Spirit is instantaneous. Faith is not a gradual process nor is the infilling of the Spirit a gradual process. 

   Faith instantly receives in your innermost being the fullness of the presence and power of the Spirit. Rejoice! When your prepared heart believes, that moment you are filled with the Spirit. (Google image, Worshipping God) 

#23 How Spiritual Power is Depleted or Lost 5-8

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel- 5) Self-indulgence, a self-centered, luxurious lifestyle can deplete your spiritual power. Dr. R.A. Torrey, the Bible teacher and co-worker of D. L. Moody, was deeply convinced of this. He wrote:

#22 How Spiritual Power is Depleted or Lost 1-4

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: Jesus Christ did not begin His ministry until He received a special bestowal of Holy Spirit power. Hear His words: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach" Luke 4:10:18).

   Peter summarized Christ's ministry by saying, "God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power" (Acts 10:38). (Google image, Jesus walking with disciples (slide 20)).

#21 Depleted Spiritual Power Can Be Renewed

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: When the Holy Spirit fills us He imparts purity and power. 

   The person who dedicates his all as a living sacrifice in absolute surrender (the term Andrew Murry loved to use) and asks for and trusts for the Spirit's infilling is given a new dimension of spiritual life.

   The Holy Spirit cleanses and makes one pure in the inner person to a degree he never knew before, and in the same moment fills with a divinely greater power. (Google image, Couple praying).

Light Us Up!

Lisa Buffaloe-While praying for a friend’s upcoming ministry conference, in my spirit I could “see” a dark place, a place with much opposition.

I felt there was much hard ground to navigate, much darkness, but as I prayed I could "see" a crack in the earth, a dark crack opening and the opposition falling in. Then, God's light came blazing forth from the crack getting brighter and brighter as the crack grew wider and wider. (Google image, Man praying).

#20 Do You Lack Spiritual Power?

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: Over many a Christian leader's record could be stamped these words: LACKS POWER. 

   Why do so many ministers and lay leaders have a vague restless awareness that something is lacking in their leadership?

   They have had adequate training; they make all the needed preparation; they work faithfully and hard. But it all remains largely on the human level. (Google image, Preacher and church)
