Handling Discouragement

Mary Southerland- "Valleys are lined with disappointment and discouragement. Some people seem to thrive on adversity, emerging from their valley with greater strength and deeper faith.

Others stumble and fall, giving in to discouragement and dropping out of the race. The difference in outcome is determined by the way we choose to handle discouragement.

Mornings Spent With Jesus

Mornings Spent With Jesus
So precious are the moments
In the morning spent with Him
The moments in the morning

When God shares His precious gems
His gems of truth and glory
While my mind is fresh and clear
And more is my perception

As I lend to Him my ear
For as our Saviour did before
So many years ago
By rising in the morning

For His time with God to know
The plans the Father had for Him
And each step He would take
That with each daily challenge

He would not make a mistake
So we can have the privilege
To walk each day with God
And know we're in His presence

In each step that we may trod
And hear His Words of wisdom
As He speaks them through our lips
That spent time at the Fountain

Blessed by scripture sip by sip
The Fountain of eternal life
That's hidden in God's Word
That holds so many promises

So many have not heard
Who in their desperation
Seek the minds of worldly men
When if they but took time with God

They'd feel His peace within
And know without uncertainty
What He would have them do
In every opportunity

His Spirit brings them to
Where meeting someone else who's lost
And cannot find their way
They have the precious privilege

In what they do and say
Of working hand in hand with God
Revealing there His heart
As in another's hope for Life

They get to have a part
Who likewise will receive the seed
Sown in the hearts of them
To help them gain the victory

Found in the Light of men
The victory of heaven
That Christ gave so long ago
As daily in His intercourse

With men His life would show
That One on One connection
That is ours for us to take
If we believe the promise

And arise for Jesus' sake
While all is fresh and early
In our morning walk with Him
Through pathways in the scriptures

That contain the hope of men
The hope of life eternal
When we'll see Him face to face
And hear the voice we heard before

The voice that by God's grace
Spoke to us every morning
As we walked and talked with Him
Who gave His Holy Spirit

To reveal His Way to men
The way that He revealed it
When our Saviour journeyed here
That we might also hear the words
Our Master got to hear

If you're interested in learning about true fasting, maybe you'd like to check out this link: 10 Things You Need to Know about Fasting  by Sam Storms

"Fasting is a declaration that God is enough." This is definitely a new opinion of fasting! I highly recommend that you check it out! It may very well give you a better perspective altogether on the reason for fasting!

Father, draw us aside for You to share Your precious gems of truth and glory with us.
May we cherish our time with you to learn of Your plans, so we'll be aware of Your desires for us for each day's challenges.
Help us not make the mistake of ignoring our privilege to walk with You each day, and to know Your presence.
In all we say and do, may it be evident that we're working hand in hand with You, Lord God, revealing Your heart to others, and giving them hope for life.
I ask this in Jesus' name, and for His glory. Amen.

Today's Bible verses-

Jer. 29:11 (NET Bible) For I know what I have planned for you, says the Lord. I have plans to prosper you, not to harm you. I have plans to give you a future filled with hope.”

Is. 55:8-9 (NKJV)
For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.”

Ps. 37:305 (NASB) “Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He will do it.”

Today's quote-

~ Lisa Buffaloe- "When my flesh wobbles with worry, God’s comfort flows through, His strong arms catch and surround me, and He will guide through the light and through the dark. I don’t need to concentrate on the fear of what may come, or what may happen, instead I need to remember God is with me. God is the deliverer, healer, restorer, and redeemer. What have I to fear when God is with me? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Praise God, He is with me!"

Your God . . . HE IS LORD

Ernie Miller Your God . . . HE IS LORD

Your God knows you. He remembers the first time you wept and the first time you laughed. He knows the day of your first steps and the day you spoke your first words. He knows the number of rain drops that ever fell upon you. (Google image, Jesus Christ).

#130 Strategies in Prayer Warfare, Part 2

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: (6). Battle from the position of victory. On the cross Jesus defeated Satan in a total and final victory.

"And having disarmed the powers and authorities [terms for Satan's hierarchy of evil], he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross" (Col. 2:15).

Christ's victory was not only a victory in depth, it was a victory with eternal consequences. (Google image, The cross of Christ).

#129 Plan and Take the Offensive

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: (4). The battle order of Churchill to Lord Mountbatten in World War II was, "You are to plan for the offensive. In your headquarters you will never think defensively."

You are born again for battle and victory. Christ's orders to you are to press for victory. (Google image, Born for Battle).

#128 Accept and Adopt the Warrior Spirit

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: (2). Accept and adopt the warrior spirit. Victory depends on the warrior spirit. The Goliaths of our day are commissioned by Satan to challenge us as followers of Christ.

Become like David, a man after God's own heart (Acts 13:22). God loved and honored David's warrior spirit. (Google image, Prayer Warrior).

Leave Room for God

Oswald Chambers- "As servants of God, we must learn to make room for Him—to give God “elbow room.” We plan and figure and predict that this or that will happen, but we forget to make room for God to come in as He chooses.
Would we be surprised if God came into our meeting or into our preaching in a way we had never expected Him to come? Do not look for God to come in a particular way, but do look for Him.(Google image, Looking to God)
