Do You Know Your Shepherd’s Voice?

Michelle S. Lazurek  tells us, "I heard a loud, happy scream pierce through the crowd, interrupting my much needed 'me' time."

"I was at the mall with my husband and eight-month-old son.

Immediately able to identify the screamer, I whipped my head around and spotted my husband and son – my son waving happily and blowing me kisses.

Call it mother’s intuition, but I have always had a special bond with my son. Through spending time with him and caring for him, I acquired an intimate knowledge of him.

I can now immediately interpret each of his cries, screams, and whimpers to give him what he needs.

Even among the thousands of other sounds filling the crowded mall that day, I knew the sound of my son’s voice.

It is the same with Christ.

Through knowledge of Scripture and an intimate relationship with Him, I am learning to recognize His still small voice even amidst the clamor of the world.

I also distinguish the Lord’s voice in an audible way, through fellowship with fellow brothers and sisters in the faith or the utilization of spiritual gifts.

Nothing could have prevented me from hearing my son’s cry that day. He is a part of me, and I am a part of him.

Sheep know their shepherd’s voice because of the time and care a shepherd invests in them. Because of this care, nothing can tear those sheep away from following their shepherd.

Do you know your shepherd’s voice?

Don’t let it be muffled by the sounds of the world’s distractions. Listen closely to Him."

"My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand." John 10:27-28

"Whenever life's burdens oppress you
And trials are too much to face,
Remember God's strength in your weakness;
He'll give you His power and grace.Sper
The increasing darkness of trials
only makes the lamp of grace shine brighter."

Today’s treasure truth #27: If you are “born again”, you are more than a conqueror. Rom. 8:37
Our thought for today: Pray for more of God to develop within you. Let Him teach you to do things His way.
"Pass me not, O gentle savior,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou are calling,
Do not pass me by.
Let me at a throne of mercy
Find a sweet relief;
Kneeling there in deep contrition,
Help my unbelief.
Trusting only in Thy merit,
Would I see Thy face;
Heal my wounded broken spirit,
Save me by Thy grace.
Thou the Spring of all my comfort,
More than life to me,
Whom have I on earth beside Thee?
Whom in Heav'n but Thee?
Savior, Savior, Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
 Do not pass me by."
