#55 The Greater Includes the Less (Last post from The Path of Prayer)

   Samuel Chadwick: Delays are not denials, and it pays to wait God's time. Moses got into Canaan, and Elijah went to heaven by a more glorious way than that of the juniper tree.

   No inspired prayer of faith is ever refused. "No" is never God's last word. If the prayer seems unanswered, it is because it is lost in the glory of the answer when it comes. (Google image, Pray these two words, "I surrender" before praying )

   God may refuse the route because He knows a better, and He took Moses into Canaan by a better way and in better company. I have known other people who have had to go by way of heaven to find the answer to their prayers.

   He took Elijah to heaven by a much more wonderful way than that of the grave. He wanted to die, and God gave His tired servant sleep and rest, and sent him away to the hills for a holiday. That is His remedy for nerves: a change of air, a new vision, and a bigger job.

   Paul never had any use for juniper trees, and to him God said, "My grace is sufficient for thee," and He taught him to glory in affliction and adversity.

   In the experience that first sorely tried out faith, God sent help out of the darkness. Through the tears of a broken heart the vision came, and when the memorial card was sent it bore this text, which rebuked our unbelief, "He asked life of Thee, and Thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever."

   So in Glory shall we find our prayers have been interpreted according to the infinite wisdom and eternal love of God our Father, who bids us pray.

Unanswered yet! The prayers your lips have pleaded
  In agony of heart these many years?
Does faith begin to fail? Is hope departing?
  And think you all in vain those falling tears?
Say not, the Father hath not heard your prayer,
  You shall have your desire—sometime—somewhere.

Unanswered yet! Though when you first presented
  This one petition at the Father's Throne
It seemed you could not wait the time of asking
  So urgent was the heart to make it known;
Though years have passed since then, do not despair
  The Lord will answer you—sometime—somewhere.

Unanswered yet! Nay, do not say ungranted,
  Perhaps your work is not wholly done.
The work began when first your prayer was uttered,
  And God will finish what He has begun.
If you will keep the incense burning there,
  His glory you shall see—sometime—somewhere.

Unanswered yet! Faith cannot be unanswered;
  Her feet are firmly planted on the Rock;
Amid the wildest storms she stands undaunted,
  Nor quails before the loudest thunder-shock.
She knows Omnipotence has heard her prayer,
  and cries, "It shall be done—sometime—somewhere."

Let's pray-

   Father, help us understand that a delay in Your answering our prayers isn't necessarily a refusal. We need to be patient with what Your timing is for our inspired prayers of faith. It may very well be lost in the glory of the answer when it comes.
    May we accept that You know a better way to answer our prayers we've asked, and that You're working on bringing it about for our good, and for Your glory.
   As You have infinite wisdom and eternal Love for us, we will trust You to guide our praying; as You bid us to do.
   Though it seemed urgent to ask certain requests, we will not despair that we've not seen the answer. We know You will answer, sometime—somewhere!
   We pray for strong, patient praying in Jesus' name. Amen

Today's Bible verses-

        Jer. 17:7 (KJV) "Blessed is the man that trusteth
       in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is."

        Ps. 3:3 (KJV) "But thou, O LORD, art a shield for
       me; my glory, and the lifter of mine head."

          Romans 2:4(NLT)“Don’t you see how wonderfully
       kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does
       this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his
       kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?”

Surrender: The Key to Recovery

"Recovery from addiction can feel like a long, hard battle. But in fact, fighting is not the best way to approach substance abuse. People with substance use disorders often think they just need more willpower. They believe that by fighting hard enough, they can control their substance use or recover from addiction on their own."

Words of wisdom-

~ The blood of Jesus is the key to abundant life, deliverance, peace, healing, hope, and the full benefits of redemption.

~ In order to fully benefit from Christ's sacrifice; know the truth about the Truth, believe God's Word, appropriate and use the blood daily, and expect miracles and victorious breakthrough.

Today's question-

   As parents, is there a time to stop offering suggestions to our kids?

   Hopefully, our children and grandchildren will look up to us for advice, even in their adulthood. We'll need to pray that our lives be examples of Christ-likeness, so they'll have confidence that what we say will be best for them to consider.
   We're to ask the Lord for guidance in considering the "gold" in each of their lives, and to pray for His will to be done, even when they make decisions we disagree with. God is with them, and will help them make choices He'll work with, or around them, to bring about His desired plan for their lives.
   Our patience and prayers for them need to be constant as our children and grandchildren go about living their chosen paths of life. Hopefully, they'll ask us advice at times, but until they do, we are to set a godlike example before them, in the hopes they'll learn from us, and make good decisions.

Write it down!
