#13 Reigning In Him

Andrew Murray- If the believer trusts the greatness of God's power and yields himself in entire subjection to let that power rule in his heart; if he will be content to trust the strength  that is made perfect in weakness and count all things loss for the sake of this blessed price;

Then God's Word is pledged that the power that raised Christ will work in him day by day until he knows what it means to live and reign with Christ in glory. (Google image, Here I am to worship) [Excellent message]

We are trying to grasp the New Testament standard of a life of true devotion and whether the accepted standard of our modern Christianity is in harmony with it.

Try to realize the full meaning of Paul's prayer. Think of his private pleading for the Ephesians. Think of the standard of His own life as he speaks of God working in him. (See Ephesians 1:19-20)

Think of what he wished his readers to take as their aim and expectation. Paul's heart was set upon two goals for every believer—to live every day under the teaching of the Holy Spirit and under the mighty power of God working in him.

Has your secret devotion, your confident faith, and your hope in daily life accepted and rejoiced in the life that is held out to you? Are you daily living out the greatness of God's power working in you as you yield yourself to the Holy Spirit and keep depending on His power?

May God help us to return again to this passage until it becomes to us the light of God shining in our heart and the power of God working in our life!

Let's pray-

Father, as believers, we see we need to learn to trust Your greatness and yield ourselves entirely to You, to let that power rule in our hearts. May we learn to be content to trust the strength that is made perfect in our weakness and count all things loss for the sake of Christ's price He paid.
Your Word is pledged that this power that raised Christ will work in us day by day until we know what it means to live and reign with Him in glory.
May we examine the New Testament standard of a life of true devotion, and see whether our accepted standard of our modern Christianity is in harmony with it.
Paul wished his readers would take as their aim and expectation two goals: to live every day under the teaching of Your Holy Spirit and to be under Your mighty power working in us.
May our secret devotion and confident faith, and hope in daily life be accepted, causing us to rejoice in the life You offer us. Help us yield ourselves to the Holy Spirit and to keep depending on His power.
We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen

Today's Bible verses-

Eph. 1:19-20) NKJV) "And what is the exceeding
greatness of His power toward us who believe,
according to the working of His might power
(v.20) which He worked in Christ when He raised
Him from the dead and seated Him at His right
       hand in the heavenly places."

       Psalm 40:1-3. “I waited patiently for the LORD;
He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me
out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He
set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to
stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of
      praise to our God.”

Ephesians 2:4-5 “But because of his great love for us,
God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ
even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by
       grace you have been saved.”

Today's quotes-

“The gods we worship write their names on our faces, be sure of that. And a man will worship something - have no doubt about that, either. He may think that his tribute is paid in secret in the dark recesses of his hear – but it will out. That which dominates will determine his life and character. Therefore, it behooves us to be careful what we worship, for what we are worshiping we are becoming.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

The Power of Words

Words!
Sometimes we speak them hastily
and regret it.
Other times we remain silent
and wish we had spoken.

Words come in all sizes...
many are small, yet dynamic.
Others are big,
but of little importance.

We can change lives by what we say...
either for good or for bad.
Our words can make people laugh
or make them cry.

Words can build them up
or bring them down...
Pull them closer
or turn them away.

Words can draw pictures...
pretty ones or ugly ones.
They can cut like a knife
or soothe like a salve.

Whether written or spoken,
rehearsed or spontaneous,
words are powerful.
They are easy to come by,
but not easily forgotten.

A good reason to measure them out carefully.

Words of wisdom-

God's pinnacle of creation is the human mind. He wants to be intimate with us. He's our sovereign Lord. We are indeed fearfully and wonderfully made!

When we speak about our identity in Christ, we're prone to live from that place of faith and surrender.

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: Throne life, by prevailing intercession, is but one aspect of your reigning in life.

"How much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ" (Rom. 5:17).
