Their meetings in Melbourne, Australia, were preceded by 1,700 cottage prayer meetings.
No wonder multitudes were saved. For three years they held meetings in Great Britain and again the cities were shaken by the power of God as in the days of Moody and Sankey.
The very atmosphere of heaven was in the meetings.
And what was the secret of it all? Dr. Torrey told me that during their three years of meetings 20,000 people were banded together in Prayer groups praying for their meetings."
This is the last of my Dr.Torrey's messages, found in his booklet, what Prayer can do. You can order your own copy of it, plus many more very helpful booklets from www.revivalmovement.org

My next series of messages on prayer, is hopefully going to start the 18th of this month, after I receive permission. They will be taken from C. Peter Wagner's book PRAYER SHIELD how to intercede for pastors, Christian leaders and others on the spiritual frontlines. They will probably run each Tuesday and Thursday for a year or so, as there's a lot of information in it to share.
Let’s pray: Father, we have to admit that we've been slack about praying with others. May we see opportunities to gather, such before our altars each Sunday morning, and before every meeting. May we become conscience of our need, and Your provision, (if we'd only ask).
Today’s Bible verse: Ps. 4:3 "But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him."
Today's prayer for the lost: In the name of Jesus, I ask You, Father, to quicken _______________who is dead in sins and trespasses Eph. 2:1
Our quote today: “I will never give up on my family. And I will never give up on God’s ability to move in their hearts.” –Unknown
Today's prayer for the lost: Holy Spirit, I pray that You would convince ___________that he/she is lost, separated from God, and headed to hell. Romans 3:23
