Light Us Up!

Lisa Buffaloe-While praying for a friend’s upcoming ministry conference, in my spirit I could “see” a dark place, a place with much opposition.

I felt there was much hard ground to navigate, much darkness, but as I prayed I could "see" a crack in the earth, a dark crack opening and the opposition falling in. Then, God's light came blazing forth from the crack getting brighter and brighter as the crack grew wider and wider.
(Google image, Man praying).

God’s light shone through the building and beyond, moving among houses, moving among the street, moving into the city, the state, and beyond. The more the prayers, the more the light continued to grow.

James tells us that “The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power] (James 5:16).

We are given the gift and blessing of coming to our all-powerful God with our requests. Prayer is unstoppable in the unstoppable might of God. Your prayers make a difference because nothing is impossible for God and nothing can stop His light from shining.

“The prayer of the feeblest saint on earth who lives in the Spirit and keeps right with God is a terror to Satan. The very powers of darkness are paralyzed by prayer.” ~ Oswald Chambers

God “desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4), and when we pray for God’s light to shine in a dark world, we are praying in accordance to His will.

In the Light, darkness must flee. No situation, no person, no demon is too dark for the light of Christ to dispel the darkness. Will you join me in praying for God’s light to shine bright and move, move, move, move among the nations?

Light up Your people, Lord.
Light them with Your light.
Light them up with Your love to spread Your light among the nations.
Light us up, Lord!
Light us up with Your glory so that we may shine for You!
Light us up, Lord!
Please, light us up!

“For God, who said, ‘Light shall shine out of darkness,’ is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.” ~ 2 Corinthians 4:6 (NASB)

Jesus said, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” ~ John 8:12 (NASB)

“For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness.” ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:5 (ESV)

“You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” ~ 1 Peter 2:9 (NASB)

Our prayer today-

"Father, when I am weak You give me power. When I have no might You strengthen me. I will wait upon You, LORD, and You shall renew my strength. I shall mount up with wings as eagles. I shall run and not be weary; I shall walk and not faint. You are my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? LORD, You are the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? If God be for me, who can be against me? Amen." (A shared prayer).

Today's quotes-

~ Christine Wyrtzen- "The past and the future are out of bounds. I’m not supposed to play God. He is the only one who operates outside of time. He equipped me to live today on the wings of momentary grace. The spirit of Abba Father is within me. He’s speaking scripture to my soul. He reminds me of His sustaining presence. And when needed, He sends angel reinforcements to help me in my battle." ("Daughters of Promise" christinewyrtzen@mac.com, from her post: Not Meant For Time Travel).

Prepare you heart and pray this prayer from Psalm 51:7-13 with me:

"Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean;
wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
Oh, give me back my joy again;
you have broken me
now let me rejoice.
Don't keep looking at my sins.
Remove the stain of my guilt.
Create in me a clean heart, O God.
Renew a loyal spirit within me.
Do not banish me from your presence,
and don't take your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and make me willing to obey you.
Then I will teach your ways to rebels,
and they will return to you."
