#26 Loving Jesus will Transform Your Life

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: Loving Jesus makes you a happy Christian, an expectant Christian full of hope and faith. Loving Jesus will transform your prayer life, both your communion and your intercession.

It will make putting priority on prayer much easier. Loving Jesus will make you a radiant witness of all He means to you and does for you. (Google image, Man's folded hands on Bible).

Loving Jesus makes you God-conscious and surrounds you with His presence. A passion for Jesus will bring new life and power to your public speaking and preaching. It will add a new reality, joy, and often a poignancy to your personal conversations about Jesus.

All other passions build upon or flow from your passion for Jesus. A passion for souls grows out of a passion for Christ. A passion for missions builds upon a passion for Christ. When Hudson Taylor was once asked what was the greatest incentive to missionary work, he instantly replied, "Love of Christ."

William Booth's passion for helping the underprivileged, the derelicts of society, and for world evangelization was built upon his passion for Christ.

The most crucial danger to a Christian leader, whatever his role, is to lack a passion for Christ. The most direct route to personal renewal and new effectiveness in leadership is a new all-consuming passion for Jesus. Lord, give us this passion, whatever the cost!

Learning to access your
place of prayer

Father, I've noticed some folks in church aren't happy, and I've sensed that they haven't yet seen Jesus as He wants them to, and to personally find their hope and faith in Him.
I ask for Your help in transforming me, and them, in our prayer lives, to experience a sweeter communion with Jesus, and to learn to love Him.
Thank You for today's challenge, for us to request Your Spirit's help for us to receive more love for Jesus, and to build up our passion for Him, thus allowing a passion for lost souls to grow.
We ask that You give us this passion, whatever the cost may be to us. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Today's Bible verses-

1 Peter 4:7,8 (NIV) "The end of all things is near.
Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that
you can pray. (v. 8) Above all, love each other deeply,
because love covers over a multitude of sins."

Prov. 16:7 (NIV) "Through love and faithfulness
sin is atoned for; through the fear of the LORD
      a man avoids evil."

Psalm 97:10 KJV) "Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he
preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them
out of the hand of the wicked."

Today's quote-

O. Hallesby- "The soul who prays, who listens and gives heed to the Spirit's promptings concerning prayer, will experience what a joy prayer is when we pray in harmony with the Spirit of prayer and not in opposition to Him." (p.101, O. Hallesby PRAYER)

Today's popular post-

Leah Meahl- "Are You done with your three days of silence yet?

a girl on my hall asked. Then a guy texted,  "Did you find God?"

Three days earlier, I had told my friends not to text me. Other than attending classes, I would be spending time alone in my
dorm room . . . "

Did you know that joy comes through obedience? We can have satisfaction and peace when we know we've done right. As we keep ourselves in the Love of God, we can be justified, and develop a dynamic faith.
