The Fear that Grips Humanity

The fear that grips humanity
The fear that grips each soul
Who have not placed their trust in God
To cleanse and make them whole

Who knows within their heart of hearts
There's more than meets the eye
Awaiting them the judgement day
When all the wicked die

(Google image, Too much on man, not on God)

When they realize rejection
Unlike they have ever known
Rejection for presumptuous ways
That keep them from the throne

The throne that God has promised
To the righteous and the best
Who by God's grace through living faith
Have overcome the test

Is fear that comes as consequence
Not from our loving God
But from the void and emptiness
That is the path we trod

When we neglect that time with Him
First given us each day
The time to set aside our will
To sit with Him and pray

Not prayers for grand enlightenment
Like other worldly men
Who seek the praise and honor
That abides this world of sin

But prayers of special intimacy
Full given to His will
That builds each day with more delight
While listening and still

For when our hearts are open
And God's Word is in our hands
And we indulge our senses
In His purpose and His plan

By reading where He's written
Of His perfect paradise
For those who are forgiven
By the merits of His Christ

The world has nought to offer
In these self hypnotic days
Except the fear of loneliness
Of self indulgent ways

Where God will not be present
Nor the blessing of His peace
Because they are not willing to
Give Him their full release

So friend while time is holding
And God still extends His hand
To you in matrimony
To fulfill redemption's plan

Don't find yourself rejecting
The completeness of His love
Neglecting all He offers
In this time we're speaking of

But cherish every moment
You can meet Him on your knees
Receiving all He has for you
No human eye can see

But angels long to look upon
Yet cannot understand
The beauty of God's holiness
As one through Christ in man

Matthew 19:4-6; John 17:17-23

Lee Forbes

Mary Southerland- "I desperately want to live in such a way that one day, I can look back in wonder at all of the “God things” He did in and through my life. I pray that those who come behind me will celebrate an ordinary life that was lived in extraordinary ways and is explainable only through a power man can neither produce nor comprehend – God’s power.

Let's pray with Mary... Father, I come to You, desperately needing Your power and Your strength. Help me learn to recognize Your work in my daily life. I celebrate the fact that You are able and willing to perform miracles when I step out in faith and trust You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen."

Some quotes-

~Samuel Chadwick- "Can it be that there are things that to God are wonderful? That is how God speaks, and to Him there is nothing more gloriously wonderful than prayer. It would seem as if the biggest thing in God's universe is a man who prays...In the estimate of God prayer is more wonderful than all the wonders of the heavens, more glorious than all the mysteries of the earth, more mighty than all the forces of creation." (from his book, THE PATH OF PRAYER, p.15).

~Wesley L. Duewel- "Total surrender means that we confirm Christ as Lord over every part of our being. Dr. Harold Lindsell teaches,

'Before anyone can be filled with the Holy Spirit, he
or she must voluntarily come under the lordship
of Jesus Christ in the sense of being a slave. This
choice will not be forced on anyone, but it is the ...
condition set down for those who wish to be filled
with the Holy Spirit.' " (Taken from p. 308 of his book,
     ABLAZE FOR GOD).

Today's Bible verses-

Hebrews 11:1 a  (NIV). "Now faith is confidence in

what we hope for and assurance about what we do
       not see."

Ephesians 3:20, (NLT) "Now glory be to God! By

His mighty power at work within us, He is able to
accomplish infinitely more than we would ever
       dare to ask or hope."

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: "The most important measure of prayer is not its length but its depth; not its beautiful words but its intensity. It is not necessarily a matter of how many hours you pray, but how intensely you pray when you do pray . . . "

A sample verse from p. 44-

What Will You Now Plan
for Your life

"To learn this it may take some time
For your will to remake.
Allow God's Word to help your mind
To see it's for your sake."
