What amazing variety and beauty we see, even in the fungi that spring up overnight and dot the woods with splashes of bright orange, red, and yellow!
(Google images, [red top] Fungi, [orange] Polypore mushroom).
The snapshots of life that surround us inspire me to lift my eyes to the Maker who created not only mushrooms but also the stars in the heavens. He designed a world of infinite scope and variety.
Beautiful mountains |
And He made you and me and placed us in the very middle of this beauty to enjoy and to rule over it (Gen. 1:27-28; Ps. 8:6-8).My thoughts turn to one of our family's "camping psalms"—psalms we read as we sit around the fire.
"LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the
earth! You have set your glory in the heavens . . . When
I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the
Moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what
is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings
that you care for them?" (Ps. 8:1-4).
How amazing that the great God who created the world in all its splendor cares for you and me!

Our prayer for today:
Transform your marriage |
"O Lord, our majestic Maker, our hearts turn toward praise when we see snapshots of Your beautiful world. Thank You for creating us! Help us to rule Your world with wisdom."
"A God wise enough to create me and the world I live in is wise enough to watch out for me." Philip Yancey
Today's Bible verses-
"Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and
shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart" (Ps. 32:11).
Today's quote-
"By him [Jesus] therefore let us offer the sacrifice of
praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our
lips giving thanks to his name (Heb. 13:15 KJV).
"Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the
Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (Eph. 5:20 KJV)."Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and
shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart" (Ps. 32:11).
O. Hallesby- "Inasmuch as we experience the majesty and the grace of God only as He has revealed Him self in acts of merciful kindness toward us, we can readily understand that praise and thanksgiving will overlap and complement each other. Thanksgiving will naturally express itself in praise. And praises will be called forth by the acts of merciful kindness for which we are giving thanks." (Taken from p. 143 of his book, PRAYER).

I Will Choose to Look Up By Jane Ault
(I recommend that you read her message; it's one that will bless you).
"After reading and listening to news reports about Irma’s path of destruction in the Caribbean and Florida all day Sunday, I could not get to sleep. My mind would not rest. I got out of bed, sat down in my recliner, and picked up All My Days, a beautiful book written by my friend, Ellen Mainville."
Today's question-
As a Christian, do you know you have a calling on your life by Jesus?
"So we are ambassadors, God making His appeal as it
were through us. We [as Christ's personal representatives]
beg you for His sake to lay hold the divine favor [now
offered you] and be reconciled to God." (2 Cor. 5:20 AMP).
were through us. We [as Christ's personal representatives]
beg you for His sake to lay hold the divine favor [now
offered you] and be reconciled to God." (2 Cor. 5:20 AMP).
"Go to the lost, confused people . . . touch the untouchables.
You have been treated generously, so live generously"
(Matthew 10:5, MSG).
We can't run from our calling. Jesus wants to use us to love others, for we are fishers of men, for and with Him.
