What Was Done

Lisa Buffaloe- What was done to me in my past by others — the sins they committed against me, the wrong done by them against me . . .
What was done by me — the sins I committed, the wrong turns I made . . .

What was done is replaced by what was done on the cross by Jesus Christ. Through Jesus, what was done is healed, restored, forgiven, and renewed. (Photo credit).

What was done is made new by The One who says, “I am the Alpha and the Omega. I am the One who is and was and is coming. I am the Almighty.” ~ Revelation 1:8 (NCV)

What was done then, what was done before, becomes what is now – grace, mercy, healing, and eternal life.

"God will create new heavens and a new earth; and the former things will not be remembered or come to mind. And, He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away" ~ Isaiah 65:17 (NASB)Revelation 21:4 (NASB)

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Son, Jesus Christ. Thank You for the mercy through the cross. Thank You for forgiving me of my sins. Thank You for Your grace and unfailing love that heals, restores, and wipes away every tear from what was done.

Today's Bible verses-

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of
all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles,
so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the
comfort we ourselves have received from God"
       (2 Corinthians 1:3-4, NIV).

"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer
and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests
be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which
passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts
and minds through Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7).

“Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and
patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to
you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to
turn you from your sin?” Rom. 2:4 NLT).

Today's quotes-

~ Joe Stowell- "If hurting, rejected people can find loving refuge, comfort, and forgiveness in Jesus, they should expect no less from the church. So let's exhibit the love of Jesus to everyone we encounter—especially those who are not like us. All around us are people Jesus wants to love through us. What a joy it is when people unite to worship together in love—a slice of heaven we can enjoy here on earth!

Joe's prayer- Lord, remind me today that while I was a sinner You embraced me with Your deep and unconditional love and brought me into the fellowship of Your grace. Lead me to someone I can love as You loved me." -Joe Stowell

~ Randy Kilgore- "Comfort is a powerful and memorable tool! For any caregiver, and Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 it's an important part of God's toolbox. Not only that, but God also multiplies the impact of His comfort by calling us to use the memory of the comfort He gives us to comfort others in similar situations (vv. 4-7). It is but another sign of His great love; and one we can share with others—sometimes in the simplest of gestures."

   "Have you ever noticed that
the sunsets broken by clouds are
the most beautiful?
When times are at their worst,
Jesus takes our pain, our problems and
turns them around.
He truly makes us beautiful, if we just allow Him to do so."

Today's question-

Do you ever compare yourself to others, wondering how you are doing?

If we know our value in God's sight, we can serve others, to add value to them. Jesus knew His relationship with the Father at His baptism. This is no time to put on masks, but to be true to His calling on our lives. Find your true magnificence in Jesus, and encourage others to strengthen their relationship with Him, and to partner with him to serve others. Who do you know you can sow encouragements into today?
