#32 Mobilized for Battle

Andrew Murray-  Every believer is called to be a soldier in Christ's army. The spiritual powers of darkness are to be met and overcome by all who have learned that they are not to live for themselves, but wholly for Him who redeemed them.

Jesus leads them as His conquering forces to rout the spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places. Many Christians have never understood their calling and have never given their lives unreservedly for the one object of securing the triumph of our Redeemer in the world.

Listen to the summons that calls us to the war. Let us confess and repent that we seldom stand in the strength of the Lord and in the power of His might, with our armor on day and night.

Let our ears be opened to the call that comes from every Church for men and women who will yield themselves to Christ for His service, whether in the home or on the mission field.

We are to prove first in our own life that God's Word has power with Him in prayer and intercession, and with us i surrender and cleansing. There we learn to use it.

Our love for our Lord and for souls will rouse us to the war. The Word of God will become the sword of the Spirit that we carry to meet the enemy and to deliver his captives.

How helpless is the Church of our day with its thousands of missionaries to meet the needs of millions of unbelievers. How strong it might be if every believer were trained to yield to the two- edged sword proceeding out of the mouth of the Son of Man. After it has done its work in his own heart, he could grasp it and use it to bring deliverance to those who are dying in bondage to sin.

Our private devotions have often been the vain attempt to find nourishment of joy in the Word of God. We failed because our first thought was the selfish one of seeking comfort or holiness for ourselves.

Let us repent and learn that a Christian is saved so that Christ may use him for the welfare of the whole Body and of those who have not yet been gathered into it.

May our devotions bear these two simple marks—the entire surrender to the Word of God as the two-edged sword and the surrender to wield that two-edged sword in the power of the Holy Spirit against every enemy of Christ and His Kingdom.

Let's pray-

Dutch Sheets- "A prayer you can pray:

Lord, we are privileged to be Your priests and kings in Your eternal Kingdom. We may not fully understand what that means, but we do see that there is a role we have not been fully walking in. This role of authority is foreign to us. It is revealed by Your Spirit to be ours. So, Holy Spirit, help us comprehend how the Father wants us to work with Him to decree His will into the earth.
Let this revelation spread and spread, to many churches and denominations and other groups of Christians. We want to be a mighty spiritual army in the earth. We do not want to give the enemy ground that is not his to have forever. Let this ancient foe see that the people of God see his wily ways and we are learning to stop him in his tracks.
Lord, give us Your assignments. Give us Your scriptures. Make us confident to speak Your Words into the earth, so You can form them into miracles, signs, wonders, and new life. Let our pastors make room in the times we gather together for the Body to be the Ekklesia. Train us all, across many denominations and streams. But, don’t let it stop there! We will go forth with the Word of God in our mouths to the places of influence You have called us to and shift that, too, in Jesus’ Name. Amen"

Today’s decree: Give Him 15 Minutes: An Appeal to Heaven
The Ekklesia, the Church, will prevail against hell’s attack in the earth!

Today's quote-

~ Oswald Chambers- “…knock, and it will be opened to you” (Luke 11:9). “Draw near to God…” (James 4:8). Knock— the door is closed, and your heartbeat races as you knock. “Cleanse your hands…” (James 4:8). Knock a bit louder— you begin to find that you are dirty. “…purify your hearts…” (James 4:8). It is becoming even more personal— you are desperate and serious now— you will do anything. “Lament…” (James 4:9). Have you ever lamented, expressing your sorrow before God for the condition of your inner life? There is no thread of self-pity left, only the heart-rending difficulty and amazement which comes from seeing what kind of person you really are. “Humble yourselves…” (James 4:10). It is a humbling experience to knock at God’s door— you have to knock with the crucified thief. “…to him who knocks it will be opened” (Luke 11:10).

Words of wisdom-

The media are devoted to fear-inducing subject matter to distract us from remembering that God is our Refuge in all circumstances. We're to open our eyes to see more and more of His Presence all around us, and to proclaim Him to the world.

As we begin this new Year, may we focus our thoughts on the Lord, as He has plans to prosper us and not harm us, to give us a hope and a future. May we give ourselves fully to this adventure of increasing attention to His Presence. (Jer. 29:11)

Today's popular post-

Dr. Wesley L. DuewelThe Spirit empowers you to pray. "Do you feel you have so little prayer power? Of course, you do. None of us has prayer power in ourselves

The role of the Holy Spirit is to empower. He wants to express His power through you as you prevail for the burdens on His heart . . ."

Today's question-

Are you waiting for permission from the world to share Christ?

We know that working for God will bring hostility from those who don't know or love Him. The world actually hates God, and wants to go on doing what they love doing: sinning. As Jesus was sent by the Father into the world to do His will, so Christ sends us into the world to proclaim the peace of God. We're to know Who it is that's sending us, and what it is He wants of us in proclaiming the Good News of Salvation, even to those who have a hatred of God and His people.
The world needs to know the Lord Jesus, and God's design is that He use His people through various ways of ministry which He directs. We're not to be afraid to suffer for him. He is Able to rule over every situation we find ourselves in.
