C. H. McIlravy- "Oh, that we might love Him more! that our love might be more pure and unselfish! Even a little turning of our faces forward Him with determination to go on into all He has bought for us, and He hastens to meet us.
How His heart is ravished by one glance of our eye, by the turning of our hearts and lives, our aims, purposes, and desires Christward. (Google image, Above all, God wants my heart)
No words can express how bright and beautiful in the eyes of Christ, are all the expressions and tokens of love which a devoted heart offers to Him. The praise and gratitude from the truly consecrated heart, the loss of friends and reputation for His dear sake, the persecution that comes from His Name's sake—are better than all good to Him who has suffered such pain for us. It was that He might redeem the bride and have her love for Himself alone that He poured out His blood. He bought her with all that she is, and has right to all the love that she can give. He paid a great price for her, even His own precious blood, and He paid this great price because He loved her with an everlasting love.
The least she can do is to pour out her love and devotion at His feet, to give Him every token of her fidelity that a redeemed soul can give."

Now, here's a thought: God is more committed to our long-term maturity than our short-term comfort.
Let's pray-
"Jesus, thank You for the overwhelmingly good news that the strength needed to withstand life's challenges isn't our own. Help us grow ever-deeper roots in Your love and our place in Your family." [As seen on 5/1/20, ODB]

357- Ps. 29:2 "Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness."
358- Ps. 118:6 "The LORD is on my side; I will not fear; what can man do unto me?"
359- Jer. 17:7 "Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is."
360- Ps. 107:29 "He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still."
Today's quotes-
~ Monica La Rose- "On our own, it's easy to feel insecure and fragile, pummeled by our fears and insecurities. But as we grow in our true identity in Christ (Eph. 4:22-24), we can experience deep peace with God and each other (v. 3), nourished and sustained by Christ's power and beauty (vv. 15-16). [As seen on 5/1/20, Our Daily Bread]
~ "The grace of God can bring us into and keep us in the liberty of the Spirit. We can be made free from the sad life under the power that held us captive and kept us from doing the righteous things we wanted to do. The Spirit of life in Christ can free us from our continual failure in prayer and enable us to 'walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing.' " (Colossians 1:10).

Today's words of wisdom-
~ Do you find that you normally point others to Christ and His answers for others' problems, questions and needs? Our thoughts, interests, experiences and suggestions may not be what they need. Let's esteem Jesus' answers to be more important than all else.

Words from God the Father
Truly Do I Delight in You
"Every moment you seek My Presence, My heart bursts with absolute joy and delight. Truly, truly do I delight in you. My love is yours. Everything I do to and for you is intended to bring you further into Me to the place where you are able to receive all that I have done for you. Never, ever will you have to earn My love. It is yours—My love is yours."
Psalm 18:19 "He also brought me out into a broad place; He delivered me because He delighted in me."
