Feeling Insignificant?

Dave Branon: "We are among seven billion people who coexist on a tiny planet that resides in a small section of a rather insignificant solar system.

Our earth, in reality, is just one miniscule blue dot among millions of celestial bodies that God created.

On the gigantic canvas that is our universe, our beautiful, majestic Earth appears as a tiny speck of dust.

That could make us feel extremely unimportant and inconsequential. However, God's Word suggests that just the opposite is true.

Our great God, who "measured the waters in the hollow of His hand"  (Isa. 40:12), has singled out each person on this planet as supremely important, for we are made in His image.

For instance, He has created everything for us to enjoy (1 Tim. 6:17). Also, for all who have trusted Jesus as Savior, God has given purpose (Eph. 2:10)

And then there's this: despite the vastness
of this world, God cares specifically about each of us. Psalm 139 says He knows what we are going to say and what we are thinking.

We can't escape His presence, and He planned our earthly existence before we were born.

We don't need to feel unimportant when the God of the universe is that interested in us!"

    Father,
I'll have to admit that at times I do feel
unimportant. I ask that You re-program my mind,
and help me read the Bible, looking for promises
that You're with me through every situation.
Knowing that You actually "measured the waters
in the hollow of (Your) Hand," causes me to realize
how big You are...and to think that I am significant
to You, blows my mind!
In the precious Name of Jesus, I ask for grace to
understand how I am loved, and to receive it
humbly now. Amen.

Today’s Bible verse: Ps. 139:14 "I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made."

Today’s quotes: Linda W. Rooks "Perhaps our real fear is that God's intended outcome is not the same as ours. With enough worry we think we'll figure out a way to make things go the way we want. In our finite minds our plans seem better than God's. We can look with awesome wonder at the majesty of the universe he created but doubt his ability to bring good into our individual lives when we stand on the precipice of crisis."  (Taken from her book, Broken Heart on Hold pg 57).

John C. Maxwell - "I want to help you train for failure. I want you to learn how to confidently look the prospect of failure in the eye and move forward anyway. Because in life, the question is not if you will have problems, but how you are going to deal with your problems. Are you going to fail forward or backward?" (Taken from his book, Failing Forward, pg 5).

Debbie McEwen "I am just a Speck, Lord when I contemplate Your might and majesty. You made all that exists and it is so immense. You are so mighty. You are Creator without beginning or end. You created the great and the small, and everything in between. Taken in this context, I am but a speck, a very tiny being who does not matter at all. The sun will shine whether I live or die. The oceans will roar and the wind will blow regardless of how I feel, regardless of what happens to me.

The planets will rotate around the sun. The trees will grow and creation will continue whether or not I am here, whether or not I am happy, whether or not I am well.Even in the eyes of mankind, I'm no one special. You who created all that is, do care about me. I am so insignificant and yet You care so much. I matter to You, insignificant speck that I am. You created me and You love me. You know me for what I am with all my problems, with all my shortcomings, all my failures and sins. I cry when I realize that You sent Your precious Son to live and to die for me, so little insignificant speck that I am, can spend eternity with You. Blessed be Your holy name."

10 Ways To Celebrate Your Anniversary

By JillSavage The Go-To Mom
 Jun 29, 2015

"Mark says: Anniversaries can offer a bit of a "reboot" for

your marriage, if you'll make a priority to celebrate it in some
way.
Jill says: It’s a time to talk about memories, share hopes
and dreams for the future, play together, and take some
time for just the two of you..."

Our thoughts for today: What is it we need more of?

  • Not to let the flesh hold us back from praising God and praying
  • Refreshing fillings of the Holy Spirit
  • Meaningful worship of God
  • Prayer when we or a friend is sick
  • Trust in God's healing power
  • Receiving prophecy into our lives to guide us
  • Expect great things to happen!
What an honor to host God's Presence! We need to want more of Him, because He wants to give us more! Invite Him now to have Him give you more.
