How Close to Christ are You?

How truly close and intimate
Are you with Christ today
Do you lay every deep concern
Before His feet and pray

Or do you fret and fume about
The way things ought to be
Without concern for what He did
The day on Calvary

How must His soul have felt despair
When on the cross He cried
WHY HAST THOU NOW FORSAKE ME
Then bowed His head and died

If not for just the glimmer
Of the hope He held inside
When from His lips IT'S FINISHED
Were the last words that He cried

But was it truly finished
And was our salvation sure
For everything that Christ has done
And all things He endure

Or was there something more
That must be done for you and me
To capture God's eternal plan
And live eternally

Can we be saved against our will
If we refuse to lie
Upon that cross in sinfulness
And with our Savior die

That we might be renewed again
In His divinity
As Father Son and Holy Ghost
Abide in you and me

And as a creature born again
Will we then likewise be
Just like the One Who bore our sins
Upon that cruel tree

Without a care of how we share
As one His sufferings
As long as we are in His will
Each day in everything

And how can we be fully sure
We're in the will of God
Unless each moment we abide
Along the path Christ trod

By daily sweet communion
With the Father in His Word
In prayer that will not be dismissed
Or ever be detoured

By circumstance or selfish thoughts
That would lead us astray
From Christ Who is the truth the Light
And only Living Way

So harbor not your anger
Or your thoughts of discontent
But give your heart each day to Christ
And do not here relent

Until you see Christ coming
In the clouds of Jubilee
To rapture Home the saints of God
To live eternally

And as you are tenacious
In this short time that is left
Help others to appreciate
The peace within the cleft

Of Christ Who is our solid Rock
Who meets our every need
As we abandon all we are
To Him to be set free

I Bowed on My Knees By Michael English/David  Phelps/Mark Lowry/Guy Penrod/Bill Gaither

Today's Bible verse: Is. 44:24 "Thus saith the LORD thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth heavens along; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself."

Today's quotes: "We too can be prevented from seeing Jesus. Pride can blind us from seeing Him as the Wonderful Counselor. Anxiety keeps us from knowing Him as the Prince of Peace. Hunger for status and stuff can prevent us from seeing Him as the true source of satisfaction—the Bread of Life (John 6:48) Jennifer Benson Schuldt

"Thank You Jesus for all that You are. Show me more of Yourself as I read the Bible and pray. Help me to pursue You with all of my heart and mind.
To strengthen your faith in God,
seek the face of God."
ODB Feb. 23:16

~ "There is deep wisdom available through God for every need, and that wisdom is steeped in the depth of God's love. "Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!" Romans 11:33 (NKJV)

"Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him. Gut God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God." 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 (NKJV)

Don't just skim the surface, dive to the depths of God's word, His truth, His love, and His majesty."

Our thought today: God's Word gives us an overarching view of the Kingdom of God. You'll be able to view how to live for the joy of pleasing Him.

Our question day: What are you driven by? What is most important to you? Where do your interests lie, and what is it you put your trust/faith in?
