#35 You Must Prevail Over Satan

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: The instigating, manipulating, coordinating mastermind behind much over which you must prevail is Satan.

He works through his many demons to do all in his power to keep you from prayer, to shorten your prayer time, to distract you while you pray, and if at all possible, to get you to give up before you prevail in prayer.

Satan would rather have you do anything but pray. He would rather have you busy working for God than praying to God.

More than anything else you can ever do, prevailing prayer has the potential to hinder Satan, to damage his kingdom, and to rob him of his human followers and slaves.

Prevailing prayer, more than anything else, links you with God and His almighty kingdom power. It uniquely brings into action the divine and worldwide ministry of God's holy angels.

The Bible pictures the almost indescribable power of some of God's angels (1 Chron. 21:15; Isa. 37:36; Dan. 6:22). Prevailing prayer unites you with all the forces of heaven.

Satan has intense and constant hostility to human beings Because he is so anti- God. There is only one way Satan can try to hinder God and frustrate God's plan: by focusing on us human beings—we who are so loved by God, so godlike in power and potential, and so integrated into God's plan.

Satan dreads and fears prevailing prayer more than all your other activities for God and with God.

Satan usually know his priorities, and since prevailing prayer can restrain, bind, and defeat him more than all else, Satan makes his priority to hinder, divert, or stop prevailing prayer.

All prayer is a threat and an extreme danger to him. Prevailing prayer terrifies him more than all else and makes him desperately opposed.

It seems that his priority assignment for his demon followers is to oppose and hinder prayer.

Prevailing prayer, thus, must again and again be focused on Satan and our unceasing battle with his forces, intrigues, and machinations.

Our prevailing prayer often must become mighty prayer warfare. Prayer warfare will be treated in much more detail later.

We have not prevailed until Satan is defeated. The defeat begins in the unseen world of spirit but becomes visible as prayer is answered for us.

Let's pray-

Father, may we remember that Satan dreads and fears prevailing prayer more than all our other activities for God and with God.
Prevailing prayer can restrain, bind, and defeat him more than all else. Satan makes his priority to hinder, divert, or stop prevailing prayer.
Make these truths real to us today, and may we activate our faith in being faithful to pray!
I ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.

Today's Bible verse-

Ez. 34:15 "I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, saith the LORD."

Today's quote-

"Much of what is being passed off today as mental illness is nothing more than a battle for our minds. Prov. 23;7 says, "As he thinks within himself, so he is." In other words, you don't do anything without first thinking it. All behavior is the product of what we choose to think or believe. We can't see what people think. We can only observe what they do. Trying to change behavior, without changing what we believe and therefore think, will never produce any lasting results." (Taken from p. 69 of The BONDAGE BREAKER by Neil T. Anderson, author of Victory over the Darkness)

Our thought today-

Doing/saying something positive, instead of accepting negative thoughts, can bring victory.

Our question today-

Will we activate our faith in Christ to allow Him to energize us to do what would please Him, benefit us and be a help to those around us?
