Lamb Of Sacrifice

So many have an inkling of just what the Gospel means

But fail to really delve into those most prophetic scenes
They see the Babe in Bethlehem so very long ago
But fail to stop and think about those other things to know

Like why was He Messiah born in Bethlehem at all
Why not in some great palace there to give the saving call
To all within His kingdom to send them out to the world
Where nations still in darkness could see heavens love unfurled

Like banners in the hearts of them who knew the Master's plan
Established on His love alone to bring His grace to man
And there awaken deep within the hearts of those who hear
The love's response to love poured out the sinner knows most dear

But wait that was their calling from the Exodus before
To go out to the world at large to all those looking for
Escape from sin's dark painful grasp that crushes out all joy
As Satan has for centuries played with us as his toys

To threaten and abuse us with his guilt and evil ways
Full knowing in the great grand scheme he has not many days
To play upon man's ignorance of all the sinner needs
An opportunity to see their Saviour intercedes

Through visions in the scriptures where His Spirit is today
Just waiting to enlighten those who seek for Him and pray
To all the truths and beauty that they were not blessed to see
As those who once were called of God neglected thus to be

But God's still in the business of revealing Truth today
And will inspire by His grace all those who stop and pray
And look into His scriptures to see what so many miss
As He reveals those most important truths for times like this

That illustrate His message through His temple up above
His sanctuary He's prepared where standing there in love
Is our Priest and Redeemer Lamb of God and Son of man
Once born in tiny Bethlehem fulfilling God's great plan

That He the Lamb of Sacrifice should come as lambs of old
From that place where the lambs were raised as prophesies had told
From there would come the One true Lamb to take our sins away
And claim His death to be our own the coming judgment day

Let's pray-

"Fortunate is the man to whom the LORD imputes (counts) not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile or deceit. I am looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify us as a peculiar people unto Himself, zealous of good works. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all our iniquities; Who heals all our diseases . . . Amen"

236-240 one-line Scriptures for those of you who want to learn some more this week-

236- Ecc. 7:8 "Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit than the proud in spirit."
237- James 1:22 "Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves."
238- Ps. 122:1 "I was glad when they said unto me Let us go into the house of the LORD."
239- Ps. 61:3 "For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy."
240- Eph. 2:8 "For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God."

Today's quotes-

~ Oswald Chambers- “The Lord…is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish…” (2 Peter 3:9). I should look within and remember how wonderfully He has dealt with me. The knowledge that God has loved me beyond all limits will compel me to go into the world to love others in the same way. I may get irritated because I have to live with an unusually difficult person. But just think how disagreeable I have been with God! Am I prepared to be identified so closely with the Lord Jesus that His life and His sweetness will be continually poured out through Me? Neither natural love nor God’s divine love will remain and grow in me unless it is nurtured. Love is spontaneous, but it has to be maintained through discipline.   From My Utmost for His Highest Updated Edition

Stephanie Englehart- "God, in His infinite wisdom and power, planned the salvation of the world to come through suffering and death. The cross of Christ was not a surprise. It was not a wild turn in the story that God felt confused by. The God-Man, Jesus Christ, stood before a judge, completely innocent, and allowed the world to put Him to death for our sake (Acts 4:27-28).
God is not only sovereign over all suffering and death, but He uses it for good purpose. Christ’s sacrifice made the way for us to become children of God. All our sin is forgiven, and we are freed from the sting of death. In the midst of the Coronavirus, we must cling to the cross, knowing that our God did not suffer and die in vain, but that all should come to know Him."

Words of wisdom-
Easter commemorated the greatest day in history! The Lord Jesus left His tomb completely alive, giving us the opportunity to live victorious lives too! Though the enemy wants to destroy us, making us helpless and hopeless, we can be overcomers and have satisfying lives in Jesus through faith in His resurrection.

Today's guest post-

Smelled Up   Martin Wiles

"The smell clung to me like a too-tight shirt.
I love a campfire—and evidently many others do too when they camp. I’ve seen people build campfires at campgrounds in the middle of July when the temperatures soared into the nineties and when the humidity approached one hundred percent. Something about camping just isn’t complete without a glowing—and for some, a roaring—campfire . . . "
