Take a Chance

Warren Johnson challenges us to, "Plant a seed, tend it, and grow it, and you’ll reap multiple blessings."

"I found a quarter. It was out of place, lying under the baggage rollers at the airport security line. Because I travel throughout the United States on business, I’ve gained some perspective on what security looks for and how their machines search out the bad we carry in or on us.

They also train to visualize problems and find out of the ordinary things. If we observe the environment in an airport, we find that things are always in their place, with the exception of the bins and, in this instance, the coin.

In my Snapshot from God,™ the quarter stuck out. However, I didn’t see much else around it, except for the leg of the roller apparatus and the carpet. I’ve made it my habit to ask, 'Why that?' when God grants me these views.

In the meantime, I thought, what luck! I stooped and snatched up the quarter before any agent could make a move. I didn’t want a big security alarm going off because of the misplaced item. And yes, that and another seventy cents would buy me a small pack of cookies at the vending machine at work.

When asked what subject conjures the most verses in the Bible, the answer is finances. God makes it very clear that our monetary state should depend upon Him, through His promises, not through chances like finding money under the conveyor or buying that lottery ticket.

No, God says be faithful in little things so He can reward us a little, and the longer we are faithful with those little things, the more He will bless us with more prosperity. Remember, His kingdom operates on organics. Plant a seed, tend it, and grow it, and you’ll reap multiple blessings.

Finding a quarter is fun. Finding a lucky penny is, well, lucky. Finding a big bag of money isn’t likely to happen to any of us. Besides, that’s not the Kingdom way to run our households.

God promised that we have His guarantee. No matter what our financial situation, we need to trust Him. Make it a point to tithe. Do what the rule book says.

Don’t depend upon a chance finding. God will send the blessing in multiples that a single coin could never return."

"…try Me now in this… " Malachi 3:10-NKJV

Tomorrow’s post: Hearing God's Love Song Sharon Jaynes tells
us that "God had pursued and romanced my heart once again.
I was riding on a chairlift at Keystone ski resort in Colorado.
'Single,' I had called out while standing in line—the proper etiquette for those skiing alone..."

Today’s treasure truth #16: If you
are “born again”, you are strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. (Eph. 6:10)

Our thought for today: Pray the love of God rules every choice, decision, and action.
