God's Take on Marriage

Germain Copeland shares with us, "The marriage covenant is sacred; it is to be a reflection of Christ and the Church.

The husband and wife are to be in submission one to the other out of reverence for their Lord.

The husband is instructed to love his wife just as Christ loves the church, and live with her according to knowledge in order that their prayers will not be hindered.

The wife is to honor and support her husband in ways that show her support for Christ.

In other words a husband and wife are to learn to cooperate with one another, and accept each other's individuality.

Keep in mind that together you are heirs and joint-heirs with Jesus Christ, and help each other grow spiritually and fulfill your individual and corporate destinies.

Love is not passive, love requires effort; it isn't a feeling, but a decision.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus, I thank you for harmony in my marriage. Thank you for the tenderness that is expressed, promoting love and kindness. We are of one mind and we live in peace and harmony with each other. God’s peace and love dominates our marriage, home and family! Jesus is Lord! Amen"

Bible Verse today: Ps. 18:30 "As for God, His way is perfect; the Word of the LORD is tried: He is a buckler to all those that trust in Him."

Did you know: God made male and female and He decided what marriage is. Gen. 2:24 It was His idea from the beginning!

Our thought today:
Prophetic Presbytery is to present God's purposes and plans for individuals. The prophets chosen have been proven to be accurate over time, and they speak to the people who'd like to be shown what God has to say about their lives. Words of affirmation and direction are given. There's no condemnation, just gracious words, often evoking laughter and agreement with those in
the congregation.

This is done before the local body of Christ. The leaders prayerfully consider those who've applied for this privilege, and then selections are made. This helps those chosen to find fulfillment and purpose within the local church. It lets the church learn how God values them, and what the gifts are that He's placed within them.

[Our three church bodies, plus college students and young people, just enjoyed 5 days of our yearly Presbytery meetings! Many folks heard words of affirmation to help direct their lives in their walk with God. {2016 presbytery meetings begin April 15th. check cfconline.org to find out details closer to time}.
