1. It grows out of the love of your soul.

3. It may be a direct gift of God at a moment He wants to use you in prayer.
4. It may result from gradually deepening conviction of the urgency of a need and God's will to meet that need.
Finney advised,
"If you find yourself drawn out in mighty prayer for
certain individuals, exercised with great compassion,
organized with strong crying and tears, for a certain
family or neighborhood or people, let such an influence
be yielded to." (Principles of Prayer, p. 71)
6. It may become characteristic of your prayer life as you give yourself to intercession.
7. It quickens and strengthens your faith.
What prayer passion is not:
1. It is not synonymous with loud, vociferous praying. It may be quiet or even silent prayer. Many a person has prevailed so silently in the night hour that others sleeping nearby knew nothing about it.
2. It is not synonymous with physical exertion. Spiritual wrestling is not dependent on physical activity. Prayer passion is not produced by lifting the hand, waving the arm, standing, kneeling, lying prostrate on the floor, walking back and forth, or any other form of prayer posture or action. The Holy Spirit may lead you to such change of posture, especially when you are praying alone in your secret place.
Sometimes use of such a posture for the time being harmonizes with or expresses the mood of your soul—humility before God, hungry pleas to God, waiting in His presence, or spiritual determination and urgency.
Many mighty prayer warriors, like Brainerd and Finney, have had their bodies soaked with perspiration from the intense soul anguish in their prevailing prayer, even as Christ sweat the blood-sweat in Gethsemane. But do not try to work up spiritual intensity by your human exertion.
3. It is not synonymous with answered prayer. Many prayers are granted instantly or without your prolonged or intense praying. Many prayer desires are granted as you delight in the Lord (Ps. 37:4).
4. It is not a form of "works." It does not earn salvation or God's blessing. Fervency is, rather, an outworking of the Spirit's ministry within you.

Father, our need is great, as there is a longing
in our hearts to know You more intimately.
Our thoughts tend to draw us away from You,
as we spend time in prayer.

of the urgency of the needs around us.
Whether we have to silently pray, because of

Knowing God is a personal term, denoting an intimate knowledge of Him in a one-on-one relationship. Sitting in your prayer chair at His calling or direction, you can listen to the Father's heart. The Bible instructs us to seek him, for He seeks for us, and longs for our fellowship. (Is. 55:6)
Our question today-
Are you aware that God wants to be found by you, and that He is actively seeking you, to show you His good plan for you?
