#15 Making an Impact on Your World

Andrew Murray- Most of us have heard the expression, "Take time to be holy." A missionary in China for more than twenty years often said to young missionaries,

"Preach the gospel, and take time to be as holy as the preparation. The missionary must above everything else be a holy man. Unbelievers expect it of him. He must be more than a good person, and more than someone who takes time to master the language and the literature of the people. He must be holy. (Google image, Man of prayer)

"This is what we need if this world is to be moved by us. The throne of grace must be our refuge with the shadow of the Almighty as our dwelling place every hour. We must take time to be filled with His power. We must take time to be holy."

The person who takes time to fellowship with God will become holy, too. The inner chamber is the school of true devotion.

Take time to be alone with the Holy God. Take time with the Father, of whom it is said, "The very God of peace sanctify you wholly . . . Faithful is be that calleth you, who also will do  it" (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24).

Take time with Christ, the holy One of God, who said, "For their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth" (John 17:19).

Take time with the Holy Spirit who makes you His holy temple. Give time to this holy fellowship, and God Himself will sanctify you entirely. Live in unbroken fellowship because through Christ we have our access in one Spirit to the Father.

Let's pray-

"Father, direct my steps by Your word and let no iniquity have dominion over me. Uphold my steps in Your paths that my footsteps may not slip. Thank You that I am ever learning, ever growing and ever achieving. Things change because I’m changing; I am wonderfully and fearfully made. You give me the freedom and courage to be my creative self, which You made unique unto me. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen"

Today's Bible verses-

Eph. 4:29 (NKJV) "Let no corrupt communication
proceed our of your mouth, but what is good for
necessary edification, that it may impart grace
       to the hearers."

2 Cor. 9:8 (NKJV) "And God is able to make all
grace abound toward you, that you, always having
all sufficiency in all things, have an abundance for
       every good work."

Titus 3:8 (NKJV) "This is a faithful saying, and these
things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who
have believed in God should be careful to maintain good
works. These things are good and profitable to men."

Today's quote-

Lysa Terkeurst- "We are to be people of truth with grace-filled words. People who choose healing and helpful words. Because whether we realize it or not, believers and unbelievers alike are listening intently to the words we speak. They’re reading the words we type. And our words testify to the kind of relationship we have with Jesus and the kind of effect He has on our hearts."

Words of wisdom-

As we look back in our life, we'll see how the Lord has helped us through difficult days. Need we think He'll not help us today? In His Presence we live and move and have our being.

Our royal robe of Christ's righteousness is custom-made for us. Let's remember that our unrighteous behavior is to be forsaken.

Today's Guest post-

Jane Ault- "Gratitude, I’ve discovered, does not begin with feeling thankful. It starts with what I’m thinking. Words that gush out of my mouth flow from the hidden spring of beliefs I’ve stored in my heart. . . "

Today's question-

     Do you trust the Lord?

What if everything seems to be going against you? Do you still trust Him to see you through each day? We are admonished to look within ourselves for some answers, and to count the cost of our of believing that God is not only Merciful, but He's a just God, too.
With eternity in view, may we be mindful of consequences of our living the way we do. In our believing that Jesus is the revelation of God in the flesh, we're to remember that there's a cost in following and obeying His Words in the Bible.
As believers in Christ's atonement for our sins on the cross of Calvary, may we understand that He gave His all, and we're called to do the same. We have the true, eternal value of this salvation, and are free to share it in whatever way God directs.
Folks may reject us, but we need to share our convictions because:

   1. It's the right thing to do
   2. Jesus is a King worth following, as He laid down His life for us.
   3. We're not to be afraid of these following things:
        a. It's impossible
        b. It's difficult

Remember this: It's a done deal with Christ's help
