Our Nation’s At War

Lord, help us see our nation’s at war
and we must rise to protect our shores;
Wake us from our contented state
and help us to see that the time is late;

That the judgment of our country is coming due
if we don’t repent and return to you.
Lord, lead us by Thy Almighty hand, for the enemy of America we must withstand:

The foes of Justice, Truth, and Light; they that would make what’s wrong to seem right,
And would tell us that darkness is the same as light, by thy grace and power must be put to flight.

Lord, help us preserve our nation with Truth, to remember again the love of our youth;
While seeking to worship our Savior and King, we left our homeland and took to our wings.

With our freedom we flew across the dark foam, Thy Word as our standard, we began our new home.
We must not forget our father’s faith now, who fought for our liberty and would not bow,

Until the greatest nation in all the earth, for Truth and Righteousness, God brought to birth.
And gave us a heart to be governed by God, to make us a people, "One nation under God."

Lord, help us see our battles can be won, if every Christian their race would run;
If each, would rise from their bed of ease to find God’s power again on their knees;

For it is the Lord that is on our side, that calls us to revive and resist sin’s tide.
Oh Lord, now help me stand in the gap, where the swords of Truth and Wickedness clap.

Give me the strength I need to prevail. For the sake of others let me not fail.
I will do my best to make up the hedge. For your cause, O Lord, my life I now pledge.

For the Soul of America, I will join the fight; I will stand up for Truth and Right;
I will follow the path that is true to God’s Word, ‘til my Father’s call to come home is heard.

Then may I say, when I kneel in His sight, "For God and Country, I have fought a good fight."

Our Nation’s At War  By James H. Cagle

    Father, give us strength and the willingness to stand in the gap to pray for our country, that we will turn back to Your ways of wisdom and direction.
     May we join the fight to stand up for Truth and what is right in Your eyes.
     Make us aware that the judgment of our country is coming due if we don’t repent and return to you.
     May we each be able to say, "For God and Country, I have fought a good fight."
     I ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.

Today’s Bible verse: Deu. 10:20 "Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name."

Today’s quotes:  “The prayer power has never been tried to its full capacity…if we want to see mighty wonders of divine power and grace wrought in the place of weakness, failure and disappointment, let us answer God’s standing challenge, 'Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not ' "[Jeremiah 33:3, KJV]. J. Hudson Taylor

~"In our rejoicing over the resurrection of Christ, don’t forget Easter is also a time of mourning, reflection, and devastation. The death had to happen before the resurrection could come. Someone had to pay the price. Please do not overlook it. Our sin put Him in the grave, and His sacrifice purified our souls. The Son of Man has overcome death. The Spirit stood Him on His feet and elevated Him to His rightful place by God."

~Prayer Alert from Dutch Sheets:

"Regarding the upcoming elections, prayerfully agree with me that:
  • We vote for a person of decency and honor (integrity matters)
  • We vote for someone that cannot be bought or sold (crony capitalism is evil)
  •  We don’t jump from the frying pan of failed government to the fire of another chameleon who changes colors at will (the political spirit)
  • We remember that not everyone in Washington DC has been part of the problem—be wise and discerning (God has been sending some good men and women to DC)
  • We vote for humility (which God exalts), morality and righteousness (which exalts a nation)
  • We choose substance and specific ideas over shallow rhetoric, fame, showbiz events and exciting promises (does anyone remember ’08?)
  • We vote for a strict constitutionalist (it was born through prayer and based on scripture)
  • We remember that we are also voting for the next 2-3 Supreme Court Justices, who will undoubtedly shape our nation and lives for decades! (they could possibly do more good or bad for our nation than the next president)
  • We vote for an uncompromising, consistent, radically pro-life person (we MUST have this)
  • By God’s grace we end up with a born-again, praying, Bible-reading, moral, humble, honest and wise person in the White House
Be very careful. Pray. Listen to your heart where Holy Spirit lives. I promise you—we’re voting for the destiny of our nation." Dutch Sheets

Our question today: Will we be faithful to pray daily for the
offices that will be vacant in our country this year?
