The Seasons

The coolness of the Autumn breeze embraced my soul today
To let me know that Summer had escaped and slipped away
And soon the chill of winter will envelope all the land
Completing the life cycle that the early Spring began

And though these are the seasons we have known for many years
They first had their beginning in the Fall of many tears
As sin began this cycle that we call the course of life
When Satan won the victory o'er Adam and his wife
And from that fall came winter in the chilling of man's soul
The winter of departure that fulfilled the devil's goal
To separate the living from the life sustaining Son
To join in the rebellion that in heaven had begun
When Lucifer the highest of the angels at God's throne
Determined by his beauty he should have his very own
Command above the Highest Who alone could only be
The God of the whole universe by His divinity
But Satan vowed his army would usurp the power of God
Abuse the perfect Standard even break His mighty Rod
And steal the hearts of people who would let his spirit in
That spirit of deception that would lead them all to sin
But God was not a human nor created entity
That He could have His Kingdom gained by gross iniquity
But in His overwhelming love He let this rebel stand
And gave him opportunity to show to every man
The evil of his kingdom that rejects the God of grace
Until the coming judgement when we'll all stand face to face
With Truth Who is Christ Jesus who will show all that we've done
And all that He through grace did do to make His children one
And then when judgement's over a new Spring will come to earth
As God will once again create this world in its rebirth
And from that Spring a Summer that forever will extend
Throughout the endless ages never more to have an end
And all who here have labored and have fought the fight of faith
Will there receive the honor as the victor in the race
They ran with Christ their Saviour when the devil had his day
But then no more the tempted as in God they'll always stay
Isaiah 14:12-15 Psalm 85

Prayer-
Nancy's bounty!

Father, as the new season of Fall has come officially, help us appreciate the changes all around us; the beauty and splendor of all the colors displayed in our areas.
Remembering the fall of man in the garden of Eden, we understand the seriousness of our allowing Satan to influence us to fall for his plan to bring the human race to complete ruin, and to fully take over as the new ruler, replacing the God Who made us.
Thankfully, our God of grace has made a way of escape for us through His Son, Jesus, back to Him; to be restored and made whole.
Judgement is coming for all who refused God's offer of salvation, and who snubbed Him entirely to do their own thing.
As a new Spring is coming for us each year on earth, we can also believe God's got a new Spring planned when He recreates this world in its rebirth.
There will be a Spring and Summer that will extend throughout endless ages for evermore.
For this, we thank You. We ask for Your Spirit to prepare us to become all that You've planned, and to enable each of us to be ready to meet You face to face. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Today's Bible verses-

"So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature." Gal 5:16 NIV)
"Be strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded." 2 Chron. 15:7 (KJV)

Today's quote-

Cindy Hess Kasper- "In the book of Ephesians, Paul urges us to pray "on all occasions with all kinds of prayers" (6:18). Demonstrating our daily dependence on God is essential in a family since many children first learn to trust God as they observe genuine faith in the people closest to them (2 Tim. 1:5). There is no better way to teach the utmost importance of prayer than by praying for and with our children. It is one of the ways they begin to sense a compelling need to reach out personally to God in faith." (Taken from Our Daily Bread®, © 9/21/2017 by Our Daily Bread Ministries, Grand Rapids, MI. Today's questions-

Would you like a different "harvest"? Are you willing to do things differently to create better results from your efforts in your family, work or church relationships? Are you willing to become a "There you are" person, from a "Here I am" one?

Our perspective of who we are and what it is we're here for makes a big difference in how we project ourselves in whatever situations we find ourselves in. Believing we're someone special may be true where God is concerned, but our robe of righteousness isn't seen by others near us.
We're in the flesh, and we need to learn how to "walk in the Spirit" in everyday life. (Gal. 5:16 (NIV) Your willingness to be instructed in ways that are a benefit to others, as well as Christ's kingdom, is a large factor. This is why a good Bible-based church is so necessary. That is where we're to receive teaching to not only save us, but to help  us mature in ways that please God and others.
