The Victory Rest

By noon He hung upon the cross that stood on Calvary
This precious righteous Lamb of God Who died for you and me
And then by evening lay within the darkness of the tomb
The Maker and Creator hid within an earthen womb

And though He seemed defeated as He lay there in the grave
Messiah born Redeemer killed by those He came to save
Reality was truthfully in victory He lay
At rest upon that Sabbath as His monumental Day

For there for all memorial again He blessed that day
As by His death and burial He put all sin away
Preparing for the next phase of the work He had to do
The work of intercession for the likes of me and you

That work for which His Spirit would be with us as our Guide
The One in Whom we find the grace from worldliness to hide
And rest like God has told us all throughout His perfect Word
With Him in full communion where His Spirit can be heard

To give to us instruction in our daily pilgrim path
A day of choice reflection not consumed by Satan's wrath
But focused on our Saviour and the burden that He bore
That we might live and walk with Him where sin will be no more

Also a day of blessing as we share with all mankind
The message of salvation that they need so much to find
That promises a new life in a City far away
Where dwells the Great Almighty God and perfect endless day

Who likewise love our Jesus Who gave all He had for us
That we might use those blessings as an emblem of His trust
To bless the lives of others for the little time that's left
Each Sabbath and each weekday giving God our very best

Jean Oathout: "Do you understand what happened at Christ's grave?
Imagine Mary Magdalene's surprise when she found Jesus'  body was missing! She'd come to care for His dead body, but found that He was no longer in the grave and that the huge stone blocking the entrance, was rolled to one side."

BreakPoint: Tomorrow Is Good Friday (Their post on Thursday)

"Sunday is not a maybe for us Christians. Christ is risen. He is risen, indeed. Thus, we won’t rightly understand anything from the Creation and the Fall of the world to the birth, life, miracles, words, or last week of Jesus Christ without having His resurrection fully in view."
A series of meditations on those last seven words of Jesus from the cross as He died. In a beautifully illustrated booklet, using sacred art about the passion of Jesus, these devotionals can help you and your family meditate on the significance of Good Friday. It’s a free pdf download that you can print and share.

Let's pray-

Father, we thank You for our precious righteous Lamb of God, Your Son Jesus, Who died for us on Calvary, and then by evening lay within the darkness of a borrowed tomb.
Our Messiah born Redeemer, was killed by those He came to save, and though seemingly defeated, was laid to rest in earth's womb, on that monumental Day.
He blessed that day by rendering sin defeated, and then began His work of intercession for the likes of us.
Your Holy Spirit is now with us as our Guide, so we can find the grace to hide from worldliness and to be in communion with Him to instruct us in our daily lives.
Help us not focus on Satan's wrathful challenges, but to focus on Jesus and the burden that He bore, that we might live and walk with Him to where sin will be no more.
May we rejoice in the Sabbath each week, knowing we're saved to learn to be like our Savior with one heart, soul and mind and to enjoy endless close communion with Him now and forever.
We look forward to receiving our robes and crowns at Christ's return from faithfully following Him.
May we be focused on our Savior to live for Him and to look f
orward to dwelling with You, the Great Almighty God, and to endless perfect days when we leave this world behind.
As Christ Jesus gave all He had for us, may we use our blessings as emblems of His trust to bless the lives of others each Sabbath and each weekday, giving our very best.
We thank You, Father, for our Savior, and for His sacrifice for us. We surrender our all to what He asks of us as believers, for His glory. Amen.

Today's Bible verses-

Hebrews 13:12 (KJV) "Wherefore Jesus also, that he
might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered
          without the gate."

2 Corinthians 4:17: (KJV) "For our light and momentary
troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that
          far outweighs them all."

Deuteronomy 31:8 (NKJV) “And the Lord, He is the
One who goes before you. He will be with you, He
will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor
          be dismayed.”

Today's quote-

~ Oswald Chambers- “Cast your burden on the Lord . . . ” You have been bearing it all, but you need to deliberately place one end on God’s shoulder. “. . . the government will be upon His shoulder” (Isaiah 9:6). Commit to God whatever burden He has placed on you. Don’t just cast it aside, but put it over onto Him and place yourself there with it. You will see that your burden is then lightened by the sense of companionship. But you should never try to separate yourself from your burden.

Today's question-

What are we to do when God gives us directions?

Fear will always try to prevent our being obedient to what we believe is God's will for us. Our challenge is to step forward into what seems to be His will.
God is moving, and we need to make an effort to follow what He is doing in and through our churches. If we will collectively come together in the prophetic mantle of our church, we'll make a healing and prosperous difference in the towns around us.
God's blessings will flow out from our meetings if we'll listen to His directives to receive His guidance. Each ministry within our churches must take the time to get close to God for His direction and anointing.
As we faithfully obey the Lord, gates of opportunity will be opened to us. We'll have:

1. An atmosphere of God's grace
2. Worship that will bring the sound of heaven
3. Faith to obey
4. Honor God
5. Desperation (to know God)
