Supernatural Power

 J. Judson Taylor- "And what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward usward who believe, according to the working of His mighty power" (Eph. 1:19).

God Himself is the great source of power. It is his possession. He manifests it according to His sovereign will, according to His declared will. Truly, our opponents are many and mighty, but our God, the living God alone, is Almighty. (Google image, Worshipping woman ).

It is with Him that we have to do. From Him alone cometh our salvation and our sufficiency. God tells us through His prophet that the men that know their God shall be strong (Dan. 11:32). If it be true that knowledge is power, this is supremely true in the case of the knowledge of God.

. . . We are a supernatural people, born again by a supernatural birth. We wage a supernatural fight, and we are taught by a supernatural Teacher. In our supernatural fight we are led by a supernatural Captain in the right paths to assured victory.

Not many days after the risen Savior ascended on high, the Holy Ghost came upon the disciples and followers, and they were filled; and praised God, He is today as truly available and as mighty a power as He was on the day of Pentecost.

We have given too much attention to method and machinery and resources; too little to the supreme Power for service, the filling with the Holy Ghost.

We are commanded to be filled with the Spirit. If not, we are living in disobedience and sin, the sin of unbelief. God is ready to fill us with the Holy Ghost."

Let's pray-

Father, You are the great source of Power. It is in Your possession, manifested according to Your sovereign will and declared to be Your will. Our opponents are many and seemingly mighty, but You are the Living God alone, the Almighty.
It is with You we have to do, and from You alone comes our salvation and our sufficiency. Your Word tells us that through  Daniel, men who know their God will be strong. May we understand that we are also strong when we have the  knowledge of Your Word to guide us.
As we are supernatural people, by a supernatural birth in Jesus, we wage supernatural battles. Jesus, our supernatural Teacher, is leading us on right paths to assured victory.
Not many days after Jesus ascended back to heaven, the Holy Ghost came upon the disciples and followers, and filled them, so they could have Power to testify of Jesus and His mission of salvation to the world.
Jesus gave the commandment to be filled with His Spirit. Today He is ready to give us the same Power as on the day of Pentecost, when His disciples were filled for His service.
Father, we need Your Spirit to fill us! We pray for this to take place, so we can have the Power Your Word speaks of.
In Jesus' name we ask this. Amen

My Grace-Full Life: Knowing God

Denise Heidel

"Getting to know God isn’t as simple as meeting up at the local coffee shop and having a conversation. Or is it? It’s really not as hard as some want to believe it is. If you own a Bible, He’s just a page away from being the very best friend you’ll ever have."

81 - 85 of 100 one-line Scriptures for those of you who want to learn some more this week-

81. Prov. 8:33 "Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not."

82. Ps. 34:7 "The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them."
83. P. 145:18 "The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth."
84. Col. 3;2 "Set your affections on things above, not on things on the earth."
85. Ecc. 4:6 "Better is an handfull with quietness, than both hands full with travail and vexation of spirit."

Today's quote-

~ Oswald Chambers- "We must continually remind ourselves of the purpose of life. We are not destined to happiness, nor to health, but to holiness. Today we have far too many desires and interests, and our lives are being consumed and wasted by them. Many of them may be right, noble, and good, and may later be fulfilled, but in the meantime God must cause their importance to us to decrease. The only thing that truly matters is whether a person will accept the God who will make him holy. At all costs, a person must have the right relationship with God."
