I found his description of the even both fascinating and terrifying.
But his leap was not without support.
He described not one, but two heavy-duty harnesses that secured him to his life line - and proven testing of those harnesses gave him great confidence as he jumped into
the air.
As I listened, it occurred to me that for the follower of Christ, living in a sinful world is not a blind 'leap of faith.'
We too have a pair of protections that can secure us in even the darkest times of life.
Ephesians 2:8-9, Paul wrote these words, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of ourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."
It's in these twin harnesses - God's grace and faith in the finished work of Jesus - that our relationship with God safely rests.
In the strength of these provisions, salvation is not a risky leap into the void. It's an exercise of confidence in God's Word and His unfailing love and protection."
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed! - Newton
We can expect God's peace
when we accept God's grace."

Let’s pray: Father, help us be willing to trust You in what You direct us to "jump" into! May we be obedient to Your desire for us, and know that Your Hand of protection is on us for our good, and for Your glory. We want to honor You by doing the work You show
us that needs to be done. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Today’s Bible verse: Job 12:10 "in whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind."
Today’s quote: Our Daily Bread
“When life feels like a storm-tossed sea
With crashing waves of pain and grief,
Turn to the Lord and trust in Him,
He’ll give you peace and bring relief.” –Sper
Better to go through the storm with Christ
than to have smooth sailing without Him.”
Our thought today: We’re to have a close relationship with God so we can be a blessing to others for their good and God’s glory.
