Jesus, Keep Me Near the Cross

Fanny J. Crosby leads us in a
song:
1. Jesus, keep me near the cross;
   there a precious fountain,
free to all, a healing stream,
   flows from Calvary's mountain.
Refrain:
In the cross, in the cross,
   be my glory ever,
till my raptured soul shall find
   rest beyond the river.

2. Near the cross, a trembling soul,
   love and mercy found me;
there the bright and morning star
   sheds its beams around me.
   (Refrain)

3. Near the cross! O lamb of God,
   bring its scenes before me;
help me walk from day to day
   with its shadow o'er me.
   (Refrain)

4. Near the cross I'll watch and wait,
   hoping, trusting ever,
till I reach the golden strand
   just beyond the river.
  (Refrain)

Let's pray-

   Father, when we remember what

all Christ Jesus did for us in making
it possible for humanity to find a way
back  to the Holy God, we simply
bow in adoration and praise.

Jesus, being a man like us, though

without sin, was willing to make the
sacrifice necessary on the Cross, to
make a way for us us to find
forgiveness and peace with the Father.

We come in the Name of Jesus, and ask for grace
to do Your will for us as Your Redeemed. Amen.

It's true, the Father enabled Him, but His willingness caused us to
have a way that is available to everyone on earth, no matter our
nationality, race, or present situation.

We can leave all our sins at the Cross, where Jesus took the

punishment that we all deserved, and then took them to Hell
for us.

Can you imagine the excitement, when Christ arrived there? No
doubt, because of our sins He had on Him, (as no one goes there
who is sinless). They truly thought they had Him!

There was great celebration that the Son of God had come

to Hell! ...They no doubt put Him through the suffering that we
deserve...

But wait...   Jesus rose three days laterHe left our sins there,

and took the captives of faith from the beginning of creation with
Him to His Father in Heaven!

As no one with sin could come into the Father's Presence, and as

He was now free from our sins, Christ took His Own Holy Blood,
which was needed for our redemption, and sprinkled it on the altar
in Heaven.

We are now welcomed to come boldly to the Throne of Grace in and through the Redemption provided by our Lord Jesus!

Praise be to God!

Thank You, Father!

Today’s Bible verse: 2 Kings. 8:42 a "For they
shall hear of thy great name, and of thy
stretched out arm."

Today’s quote:  Bill Crowder - "In Ps. 46:10
David wrote, "Be still, and know that I am God."
In our darkest moments, we can rest, for our Lord conquered
death on our behalf. Be still, and allow Him to calm your
greatest fears."

Some thoughts today: We can be sealed with inheritance of the

Holy Spirit's promise until our redemption. Eph. 1:12-14

- To whom do you belong? Can God speak to you? Does God own your life?

- We have the ability to supper-naturally see things that are unseen, when we have the gift of the Holy Spirit of God living within us.
