#51 Personal Intercession is Biblical

C. Peter Wagner continues to share
with us from his book, PRAYER SHIELD:

"In chapter 1,(of his book), #1 The Power of Personal Prayer Partners, I attempted to make a biblical case for personal intercession.

I do not intend to duplicate that here, but I will briefly review a few of the points.

Moses praying for Joshua as he fought and won the battle of Rephidim is a beautiful model.

The apostle Paul asks for personal intercession for himself and his ministry at least five times.

Euodia and Syntyche were in all likelihood two of Paul's personal prayer partners. #12  Paul's Prayer Partners: Enodia and Syntyche

Herod decided to kill both James and Peter. He killed James but not Peter and we are told that "constant prayer was offered to Bod for him by the church" Acts 12:5.

The praying was done in the home of Mary, the mother of Mark, and I would not be surprised if Mary was one of Peter's personal prayer partners."

Today’s post
-#51  Personal Intercession is Biblical, in the series taken from C. Peter Wagner’s book, PRAYER SHIELD, How to intercede for pastors, Christian leaders and others on the spiritual frontlines.(pgs. 101, 102)

Let’s pray:

Father, it is evident that we are to pray for one another!

Help us take this responsibility seriously, both for our families, as well as friends and acquaintances.

It becomes clear, that our leaders need our prayer support if we expect them to be leaders of integrity and sincerity.

Please make our prayer times be ones of heart-felt love and support for them.    In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen

Today’s Bible verse: Ps. 143:8 "Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust; cause me to know the way wherein I should
walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee."

Today’s quote: Bobby Conner - “Sometimes the creation that a potter sets out to create doesn’t cooperate as he would like it to, and this inability of the clay to be pliant and workable forces the potter to settle for crafting a lesser vessel. This same principle holds true for you and me. How often have we resisted the Master Potter’s hands as He works to make us into a beautiful and useful instrument of His will? “We are the clay, and you are the potter. We are all formed by your hand.” Isaiah 64:8

Some
thoughts today: Over time, you'll begin to be like Jesus, as you sit at His feet learning about Him. The fire within you from a life-changing experience you've had with Jesus, will be nurtured as you continue hearing and reading God's Word. Others will recognize that you've been with Him!

- Jesus was always walking in peace, even knowing what His mission was to be. He slept peacefully during a storm, as He knew His Father was in control. We are to be at peace in our situations, (even storms), as we're to be confident that the Father is in control.

- We have fear and anxiety when we refuse to honor and relate to God's ability to be in control. Do you see Him as the All-Sufficient One? Don't limit God. Let Him be God, and do what He thinks best for you. Invite Him to be Lord of every area of your life, and see what happens!

-The closer you are to God, the more you'll know right from wrong.

A popular post:   The Prayer Womb Francis Frangipane tells us, "The reality what God has planned will always manifest first in the prayer life of His intercessors. When you hear from God and then pray His Word, you are having an impact on the as-yet-unformed essence of life with the Spirit of God Himself!
