Kathy Cheek shares with us, "During my time of prayer, I reviewed the names and requests in my prayer journal and found a name that made me stop to consider who else was praying for the needs of this person.
I made a disheartening and sad conclusion.
After recent conversations with relatives and friends, I realized most of them had given up on this person.
I had often faced discouragement myself as the years slipped by without any change, any apparent softening of the heart towards the message of God’s love and gift of salvation through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.

Many of us have been praying for a loved one on our prayer list for a long time. Maybe the name on your list is someone who has turned away from the Lord, and you have diligently prayed for this prodigal son or daughter to come home.
Maybe the name on your list is a relative or friend who has never called upon the Lord for salvation, and you have prayed for this loved one for many years, but still have not seen this prayer answered.
It is easy to think that because there has been no change after all this time, they will never turn around. That attitude can lead to giving up on praying for them.

God never gives up on us. His hope is a thread that ties us to Him and, without it, we would never have known the hope that comes to us through Christ.
His love for us abounds.
His love for us abounds.
Sometimes we become discouraged when answers don’t appear. It is hard to understand when we pray for someone and don’t see anything happen year after year after year.
Even when we are discouraged and weary, we must continue in diligent prayer and keep believing God is doing a work we cannot yet see.

Ask God to give you more love and compassion for those on your prayer list, and as you keep praying for their return to the Lord or their salvation, may you see that your prayers always keep open . . . a door for hope."

to wonder if You're listening to
our prayers.
May we take heart, and remember that You are listening, and it takes time for You to work effectively in their hearts and lives, to bring them to repentance and obedience to You.
May we also remember that we are being used to cause their spiritual awakening to happen through our prayers.
May we not despair, and stop praying for someone, just because others have. Our hope is in Your moving in and through their situation.
I pray this in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
Today’s awesome Bible promise: 2 Peter 3:9 NCV "The Lord is not slow in doing what he promised - the way some people understand slowness. But God is being patient with you. He does not want anyone to be lost, but he wants all people to change their hearts and lives."
Today’s quote: David
McCasland –
“Kindness is a fruit of the Spirit, Gal. 5:22, and is powerful context in
which to genuinely speak to others about the Lord.”
Some thoughts today: God ordained your purpose for being born now. Seek to know what all He has planned for you, and line it up for the good of the Kingdom of Christ through a local Bible-believing church.
