In A Moment

A moment is the shortest span of time in light of eternity.
It may be pregnant with good or bad, or empty and barren it

may be,
Because it takes but a moment to do an act of good,
Or do some wicked evil deed, that marks us as it would.

For it only takes a moment to touch a broken heart
With love and understanding, so we can do our part.
It takes God just a moment to cleanse a heart of sin,
Write its name with saints above, and by His Spirit move within.

A moment is all it takes for God to make it plain,
The path that we should walk in, that will glorify His name.
It only takes a moment for God to lift a load; a cross,
Or if it be His loving will, to embrace us when we suffer loss.

A moment is all it takes to get a prayer to God above,
All the way to the third heaven, from earth to glory’s throne

of love.
It only takes a fleeting moment to have a thought come through,
That lets us see our reigning Lord and give us peace the long night through.

It only takes a moment to rebel, and go our separate way.
In a moment we can tell God “No”, and wander for years in powerless days.
It only takes a moment for love and grace to move
A humble, yielded, repentant soul, that for years had been removed.

All it takes is a moment to become all clean inside,
If we have taken time each day to walk close by the Savior’s side.
Yes, it only takes a moment for the spiritual world to work.
But the power of that moment is our supply for years of work.

It takes just one brief moment for death to take us away.
He has us but that moment; then it’s eternal night or day.
It could happen in a moment that the trump of God could sound,
And in the twinkling of an eye all the saved could leave the ground.

Just one loaded moment can change the years to come;
Effect the course of every man, and bring the reward that he has won.
Moments turn to minutes; to hours, then to days;
Writing out a lifetime, that we must answer for one day.

The Power of Your Words

Jill says: Did you know the Bible talks about the power of our words over 3,500 times?.."

Father, I understand it takes You just a moment to cleanse
heart of sin, but it also only takes a moment to act, that someone
can be injured.
Help me to be mindful of good things to do and to say, so I can be a person that You can use to bless others.
I ask that the Holy Spirit enable me to listen to Your directives, as I want to learn more about doing good, and to be accessible to Your leadership.
I ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.

Today’s Bible verse: Ps. 119:11 "Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee."

Today’s quote: Paul E. Billheimer - "Some people are saddened when, for some reason, they are unable to serve God on a foreign mission field or perhaps in another full-time ministry position. Yet, through the faithful work of prayer, they may accomplish as much and win just as great a reward as if they had been on that mission field or in that ministry position in person...If simple hospitality and kindness bring equal rewards, then surely a prayer support ministry will also be rewarded." (Taken from p. 105 of DESTINED for the THRONE)

My book, Granny's Guide to Marriage in Verse is on special on Kindle at $1.99! Click on the image in my sidebar and check it out! Help get it out to the women the Lord helped me write it for. Thanks!

Some thoughts today: How is the Gospel reflected in your life? If you're a professing Christian, do you have a life that shows your faith by your actions, habits, and speech?

~ Give God your best! It's not a waste, as you'll find so many rewards for it. In all that you do, do it as worship to God, expecting nothing in return. Your reward will be given when you see Jesus.

~ Show the heart of God to others. Let them hear from you what is right and moral. Show them how to live. You're being watched, so do your best to display His love to them.
