When You Pray...

Jean Oathout: There are times our hearts connect with the Creator for special needs, times of praise or to say, "Thank You."

Sometimes it may seem as though He's not listening, but He is, and He's very interested in what we're praying.

As He examines our hearts for motives, (Religion: Pure and Simple) He knows already what He plans to do in response to our prayers. We can be assured that He will act on our behalf to bring about the best possible answers.

What we need to be aware of is, He won't go against someone's will if it is stubborn or ignorant of what's best to have happen.

Over time we will see God moving in the situation, as He is faithful to see His will accomplished through our petitions.

It's awesome to even think that He listens to our hearts' desires, but it is a Reality. He governs affairs through our praying for things to be done, which please Him. (#33 You Must Prevail Over Situations)

God doesn't push or shove as Satan does, to get His will done. If we'll read His Word, the Bible, we'll find ample admonition to ask for His involvement in things that concern us. (Matt. 7:7; Luke 11:9).

Satan wants to kill us, rob our confidence in God or destroy our witness one way or another. We'll need to pray for the protection of Christ to keep us safe and well, so we can accomplish the Father's plan. (Ps. 143:9; Is. 27:5).

The leaders of our nation, towns and churches need constant protection, as well as to be surrounded by godly influences. It is our responsibility to pray for them if we want God's will to be done in and through them. (How Do You Pray for an Election?)

We simply cannot expect the best to take place if we

don't pray for it, whether it is in our families, or in our
    nation and communities.

May we accept our rightful responsibility as God's kids, and begin to be in earnest when we pray for His will to be done.

Father, please cause us to remember

You are listening when we pray.
May we ask for Your will to be done
in any given situation, and rest assured
that You're moving to bring about
the best solutions to give honor to You,
and which will bless those concerned.
In Jesus' name I ask this, Amen.

Today’s Bible verse-

(Ps. 10:17) "LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear."

Today’s quote-

"We are in a spiritual battle and need protection (Ephesians 6:12). One of the best things you can do as a pastor or leader is to proactively gather a group of prayer partners who will pray for you, your family, and ministry. Notice how many times Paul specifically asked for prayer:

I Thessalonians 5:25: “Brothers, pray for us.”

Romans 15:30: “I beseech . . . to strive with me in your prayers.”

2 Corinthians 1:11: “You also helping together in prayer for us.”

Philippians 1:19: “For I know that this will turn out for my salvation through your prayers.”

Philemon 22: “I trust that through your prayers I shall be granted to you.”

Our thought today-

We are in need of a true hunger for God's Word. Ask Him for a hunger to read and to understand it for yourself.

Our question today-

Do you see the need and advantage of becoming like Christ, the image of the Father?

My Heart Jumps For Joy  by Debbie McEwen

Today's adventure at our Canton Church plant! We're renting the Seventh Day Adventist Church...

The top photo is the sanctuary and of the worship team practicing. The lower one is our fellowshipping downstairs with bagels and fruit.
Pastor Rick gave an encouraging word to abide in the Vine, and to love one another so we will bear much fruit! Who know what can be done?
Pastor Jamie preached about TRUSTING GOD! The Spirit of the Lord was there! 67 folks came for the very first service!

Thanks for your prayers!
