Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: At the beginning of this century there was a member of Congress from New England who had been reared in a godly family but who later became an infidel and lectured against God and the Bible.

He Promised He Would Come Again
He promised He would come again
To take His children home
Where sin will never raise its head
And pilgrims never roam
Where truth resides on every tongue
And hearts abide in peace
And love for God does reign supreme
As self has been released
Released by full abandonment
To Jesus and His will
Who walked upon the raging waves
And bid the storm be still
Who saw in the demoniac
A child who longed to be
Delivered from his painful past
Embraced in love and free
Where minds cannot imagine
And our eyes have never seen
The glories God's prepared for those
Who've been where Christ has been
Who've suffered for His righteousness
And would not entertain
Returning to their sinful past
In search of worldly gain
Because they realized the Price
God paid in their behalf
Was all they had to lean upon
As right to walk His path
The path that lead through suffering
But each day in God's light
And sometimes even death itself
To win the Saviors fight
For sometimes God brings victory
By letting people lose
The battles they have fought the most
The ones they did not choose
Because He saw the victory
Would be forever lost
If they became entangled
And lost sight of what it cost
To give them opportunity
To live again with Him
Who gave us our beginning
In a world that knew no sin
And soon will be restored again
In its prosperity
The home of God's redeemed from sin
Forever to be free
So if your life is painful
If the path you walk seems dim
Trust God has made a special plan
To keep you close to Him
And if that means to lay you
In the dust to rest awhile
He's promised that when you awake
You'll surely see His smile
As He in all His glory
Will awaken you to be
His child to tell the story
Throughout all eternity
Of how what you had paid for Him
Was truly worth the cost
As Christ gave all eternity
To you upon His cross

Father, thank You for Your provision through Christ Jesus' death and resurrection, and for His promise of our eternal life, if we choose to submit our lives to Him.
May we be found faithful to Your calling on our lives, and may others see You do a good work in each of us.
Guide us through our daily living, with our hurts or great trials, to simply love and trust You all the way to our heavenly home.
Help us trust that you'll make a special plan to keep us close to Him, so we can be victorious in our faith walk with Jesus.
It's in His Name we pray. Amen.

#86 Revival in India
Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: Pandita Ramabai, who died in 1922, was born in a very religious Hindu home. By the time she was twelve years old, she could recite eighteen thousand verses of the Hindu scriptures. (Mukti women)
She was wonderfully converted to Jesus Christ and set up a boarding school in 1899, later expanding it into a women's home. Her settlement at Kedgaon near Pune, India, grew to a community of over 1,300. In 1901 God sent much blessing, and 1,200 were converted and baptized in two months.

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: There are thrilling biblical examples of agreement in prayer. When Moses faced the problems of disobedient, unbelieving Israel, he and Aaron repeatedly agree in prayer.
We first see it when the Amalekites attacked Israel at Rephidim. Moses, Aaron, and Hur climbed a hill, and Aaron and Hur upheld Moses' hands in prayer. (Moses and Aaron)

James H. Cagle: The Bible says, “Blessed are the undefiled” (Ps. 119:1). The state of holiness and cleanliness and sanctification is the state of blessedness the writer is referring to.
The blessed state is one of morality and purity that a person comes into after they’re saved by walking “in the law of the Lord” and keeping “his (God) testimonies” and seeking “him (God) with the whole heart” (vs.1-3). (Google image of a smiling Asian couple)

Locked Into Love
Jean Oathout shares with us a message from the Message Bible today, that may help us better understand God's love for us:
"So what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God didn't hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn't gladly and freely do for us?
And who would dare tangle with God by messing with one of God's chosen? Who would dare even to point a finger? The One who died for us — who was raised to life for us! — is in the presence of God at this very moment sticking up for us.
Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ's love for us? There is no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture:
They kill us in cold blood because they hate you.
We're sitting ducks; they pick us off one by one.
None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us. I'm absolutely convinced that nothing — nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable— absolutely nothing can get between us and God's love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us."
