#8 Begin With Praise

Andrew Murray- Let us begin by reading the benediction of the letter to the Ephesians. It reveals the true life of spiritual blessing, and we can cry and make it our own. Let us, in quiet meditation, wait on the Holy Spirit to work faith in our innermost consciousness.

As one whom the Father has blessed in Christ with every spiritual blessing, humbly take your place before him and say, "Blessed by God! Blessed be God!" (Google image, Worshipping God in the world of choices)

People may complain about the lack of spiritual life and pray for its deepening. Yet much ignorance remains concerning what is really needed to bring a Christian into a strong and joyous life in Christ Jesus.

Let us learn the lesson from our text that nothing less than the adoring worship of this blessed triune God can meet our need. Our expectation is to rest upon God, who has blessed us in Christ Jesus. God and His blessings are found in Christ if we continue in close and unceasing fellowship with Him.

Through the Spirit, the presence of the Father and the Son in divine power can be known. The Holy Spirit has been given to make Christ real to us and to make every spiritual blessing ours.

A life entirely given up to the Holy Spirit and a heart full of faith and confidence that God will do His wondrous work within us will see miracles. A body yielded to God as a holy, living sacrifice on the altar for his service will surely be accepted.

God will teach us to sing the song of praise, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in the heavenly places in Christ" (Eph. 1:3).

Today's quotes-

~ John Blase- "Can you even imagine? God never falls asleep at His post. He is always keeping watch over us—the sons and daughters and aunts and uncles and mothers, and even fathers. It's not so much that He has to do his, but rather that, our of his great love He chooses to. That promise is definitely something to sing about."

   Let's pray-

"Father, thank You for Your constant care over our lives. We know that doesn't mean a life absent of trouble, but rather a life held close by Your love and presence. Help us to confidently rest in the assurance that You're always at Your post." (Our Daily Bread devotional, 8/27/19)

~  Mary Southerland-  God wants us to come to Him in prayer with a childlike faith of a child – a wholehearted, confident, enthusiastic, and certain assurance that God is who He says He is, and that He will do what He promises to do.
Scripture tells us that without faith, it is impossible to please God. In Matthew 17:20 Jesus says that even a tiny amount of faith pleases Him. “I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."
A mustard seed is tiny, but once planted, grows into a large tree. We don't need a lot of faith. God says that if our faith is even the size of a tiny mustard seed to achieve miracles. Why? Because our God is an awesome God and our faith depends on Him!

Today's Bible verses-

Isaiah 55:10-11 (NIV) "As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven, and do not return to it
without watering the earth and making it bud and
flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and
bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out
from my mouth: It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the
purpose for which I sent it."

Words of wisdom-

Our royal robe of Christ's righteousness is custom-made for us. Let's remember that our unrighteous behavior is to be forsaken.

When we whisper the name of the Lord, we redirect our thoughts back to Him. Our assignment to cooperate with Him is our godly training.
