#94 Back to Argentina

C. Peter Wagner: "Throughout this book, (Warfare Prayer),
have made frequent references to Argentina as a principal
laboratory in which some of us are testing the theories of strategic-level spiritual warfare.

One of the keys to the substantial evangelistic results in the city of Resistencia was naming the spirits over that city: Pombero, Curupi, San La Muerte, Reina del Cielo, witchcraft and Freemasonry (see chapter 1 {several of my posts tell of their evangelistic efforts in Resistencia. Check out #11 Evangelist Carlos Annacondiaand the surrounding posts.}

Under the coaching of Cindy Jacobs, the Argentine pastors prayed strongly and specifically against these principalities.

Three large art panels in the main plaza helped considerably. Cindy said, 'These panels are like a map of the spiritual realm They reveal the plans and intentions of the enemy.'

She then pointed out how a huge snake represented witchcraft and that it already had several Christian fish in its belly. The fowls of the air represented religious spirits.

The boy figure playing the violin was San La Muerte. A cloud-like figure with the sun and moon stood for the Queen of Heaven [Jane Rumph, We Wrestle Not Against Flesh and Blood (Privately published Argentina report, 1990) p.67]

The case of Resistencia shows how naming the powers and spiritual mapping go hand in hand.

The next target for Edgardo Silvoso's Harvest Evangelism is a three-year evangelistic thrust in the city of La Plata, just south of Buenos Aires.

A young Argentine pastor with gifts of discernment of spirits, Victor Lorenzo, has been assigned the spiritual mapping of this city of 800,000.

Father, as we attempt to understand what
we're up against in the spirit world in our area, I ask for wisdom and discernment for us.
May the peace that passes understanding be ours, as we pray against the spirits that control people here.
Put Your burden upon our hearts, and enable us to speak Your Truth against these spirits, using Jesus' Name; for it's in His Name we pray. Amen.

Today’s Bible verse: Ps. 83:18 "That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth."

Today’s quote: Bill Irwin - "You have to make intentional choices. The type of choices that bring your life into balance spiritually, physically, emotionally, and mentally. It's going to take discipline. But if you can learn to hold to the promises of Scripture and make certain behavioral changes, you will effectively take control of your life." (Taken from Jo Ann Fore's book, When a WOMAN finds her VOICE, p.24)

Some thoughts today: Cast your cares on the One who can handle them. Christ Jesus sees the big picture, remember. He knows what should be done, and how to create the best for you in the long run. Trust Him to guide you.

~ Ask Him what He wants you to do. It's that simple. He'll reveal His plan as you proceed to walk with Him each day. Be attentive to His Voice, as He'll be speaking.

~ It's not a matter of intellect, but a personal relationship with the King of kings. God the Father was in Christ Jesus, (2 Cor. 5:18, 19) so you can trust Him to know what you're going through, and how to lead you to victory. He is able! (Eph. 3:20).

A popular post:   The Birthing Prayer Dutch Sheets will be using the words “birthing prayer” interchangeably with “travail”…

"...Having said all that, let me [Sheets] say plainly and emphatically: There is an aspect of prayer that births things in the Spirit..."
