#61 The Prayer of Faith (Part 2)

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: Dr. Duewel continues..
4) "It is the prayer that believes regardless of feelings or emotions. Faith trusts God in spite of contradictions and the absence of feelings or even in spite of your feelings. It has sometimes been called "naked" faith. (Google image added)

5) It is prayer convinced that it is in accord with God's highest will. You are totally submissive to God's will, but having been assured of that will, you can prevail until you have received God's promised answer.

6) It is prayer so sure of God's will that it will not accept denial of the answer. The longer the prayer battle, the more intense becomes your commitment to seeing the answer because you are sure it is God's will (Luke 11:9). You are aware that Satan is opposing so strongly because he so fears the answer.

7) It is eager to obey God in any way He leads so as to help hasten the answer. You rejoice in God's answer even before it is visible to you (Rom. 4:20). You are so sure of God's victory that you gladly invest time, possessions, and even life itself in the answer. You are alert to any guidance of the Spirit as to additional steps to be taken while you maintain the prayer of faith.

8) It may include prayer warfare in resisting and routing Satan. Satan is a usurper, a squatter. He tries to hold on to his territory or his slaves even after he has been defeated.

Fraser said, "I like to read such passages of Scripture as 1 John 3:8 or Revelation 12:11 in prayer as direct weapons against Satan. Nothing cuts like the word of the living God (Heb. 4:12)."

9) It is willing to pray through every detail of the answer or victory. Detailed praying is always more definite and more helpful in prevailing and in believing. as far as you understand, you should prepare the way of the Lord point by point and countercheck Satan point by point. Fraser found detailed prayer exhausting but effective both in ascertaining the will of God and in securing total victories. (Fraser and Prayer)

Let's pray-

"Father in Heaven, I belong to You.
am someone You love; someone You’ve saved; someone You’ve redeemed. Help me to lay hold of all that You’ve purchased for me.

I want to walk in the freedom You offer me. I want to stand mighty in battle because You’ve equipped me!

Forgive me for coddling my fears more than I cling to the promises of God. Fill me afresh with faith this day. Help me to live in a manner worthy of Your Name.
In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen."  Susie Larson
(A prayer as seen on my email from Girlfriends in God, 10/8/2016, "Enough with Fear!"

Today's Bible verses-

(Ezekiel 3:10 KJV) "Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears."

(Is. 55:9 KJV) "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."

(Is. 44:8 KJV) "Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me: yea, there is no God; I know not any."

Today's quotes-

"To come to Jesus for healing, we must relinquish the idea that our life is in our hands." (Taken from p. 36 of  IN TOUCH, a publication of In Touch ministries [Jan. '15].

"To step into the fullness God intends, we must be awake to Him as  well as to our pain and everything in us (and our world) that is not well. We must allow the tears and the joy and the promises of God to resurrect the places in our hearts that have grown cold." (p. 37, also from the above issue of IN TOUCH magazine)

But it is so important that Jesus Himself is described as an intercessor..."
