#126 Forward on Your Knees

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: Do you want to see the tide of battle turned and Christ proved victor in battle after battle on earth today?

Get the church to prevailing. Enlist and train the believers in prayer warfare. It is never too late for God. No battle is too nearly lost for God to win. No combination of opposing forces is too strong or too numerous for God. Forward on your knees! (Google image, Praying on your knees ).

Stand in the victory of Calvary. Glory in the defeat of Satan at Calvary. Insist on enforcing the victory of Calvary. Enter into mighty prayer warfare. With the name of Jesus, the infallible Word of God, and the blood of Calvary your confidence and your invincible weapons.

Challenge the forces of darkness. Confront the invading legions of hell. Move into attack on the frontiers of Satan. It is always God's hour to prevail through your holy prayer warfare. Raise your banners high. Raise your hand to heaven's throne, as Moses did. Claim victory for Jesus.

Our battles are fought in the heavenlies, but our praying is down here on earth's prayer battlefields. Our voices may be silent, our lips may not move, but our eye is on our Captain. Our hand is touching His throne. Our faith is raising the banner of the cross.

Our soul is shouting the name of Jesus. Not only when we are on our knees but as we go about our daily work we can maintain the spirit of militant prayer, lifting high, the name of Jesus—and prevailing in prayer.

"Pray," says Paul, "with all kinds of prayers and requests." All are legitimate in this holy war. We will be surprised when we get to heaven to discover how extensively all kinds of prayer contributed to Christ's victories.

We will be amazed to realize how worldwide has been this prayer warfare, how strategic the prayers of God's hidden saints, the mighty prayer warriors known primarily to God. We will be astonished to realize the scope and intensity of the prayer battles all across the church as it faced the world and its need.

We must war with the right weapons and the most powerful weapons—the forms and levels of prevailing prayer. Heaven fights with us as we  prevail in prayer. We are prevailing with God and for God.

Who are we, unworthy and so weak in ourselves, that God should entrust such mighty weapons to us? Who are we that God should count on our prayer to turn the tide of battle into resounding victory?

Who are we to stand in a strategic gap in the battlelines and hold off, seemingly almost single-handedly, Satan's onslaughts?

We feel so ill equipped. Ah, no! There are no mightier weapons than the weapons of our spiritual warfare. Satan has nothing that can match or withstand them.

We feel so inadequately trained. Ah, no! The skills of war we learn while fighting. The strategies of our warfare will be given to us by the Holy Spirit as we advance on our knees.

   Listen to Coleridge

"Believe me, to pray with all your heart and strength, with the reason and the will, to
believe vividly that God will listen to your voice through Christ, and, verily, to do the things He pleases thereupon—this is the last, the greatest achievement of the Christian's warfare on earth." (McIntyre, Hidden Life of Prayer, 20)

Woman praying

Prayer-

Father, may we remember that no combination of the opposing forces of Satan is too strong or too numerous for God, when we prevail in prayer in our battles.
Using the right weapons, the most powerful weapons—the forms and levels of prevailing prayer, heaven fights with us with God and for God.
Remind us that the strategies of our warfare will be given to  us by the Holy Spirit as we advance on our knees.
We come to You now in Jesus' name, for guidance and help, to obey Your calling on us to prevail in our praying, and to be successful in winning the battles for the kingdom against the powers of darkness. Amen.

Today's Bible verses-

(Jer. 10:23 AMP)  "O Lord [pleads Jeremiah in the name of the people]. I know that [the determination of] the way of a man is not in himself; it is not in man [even in a strong man or in a man at his best] to direct his [own] steps.) [see also Ps. 37:23; Prov. 20:24.]

(Ps. 108:13 KJV) "Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies."

(Ps. 62:5-8 KJV) "My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. (v.6) He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. (v.7) In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. (v.8) Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah."

Today's quotes-

~ David Roper- "We can bless others by praying with them; we can take them with us to the throne of grace to find help in time of need (Heb. 4:16). We may not be able to change their circumstances, but we can show them God. That's what a true friend does." (As seen on 5/16/17 in the Our Daily Bread devotional).

Darren Canning Ministries- "
The place of seeking him is really the place of refuge.  When we seek him in every trial, we learn to hear his voice in the trial. He then becomes to us the God in the midst of the trial; he reverses every evil that was meant to take us out.  In the midst of the storm, we learn that he is the God that helps us to overcome the storm.  When we are sick, we learn that he is healer.  When we struggle with sadness, we learn that he is joy.  When we struggle with fear and anxiety, we learn that he is hope and peace."

Today's questions-

Do you know that God has written a prophetic word over your life? Are you fulfilling your life's purpose? Where are you going in life? Do you know why you exist? Do you understand that your job is not who you are? Do you have a reason to live?

As Jer. 29:11 states, God's plans are to give us hope and a future. He wants to make it clear for us when we find out what we're called to do: to have a vision.
God has a different and distinct assignment for you, not to blend in, but to stand out! He wants you to be perpetually different and unique.
You have been born to finish your assignment. You're supposed to be known for something. Your gift will make room for you, so stir it up! (Taken from notes of message, Think Big, by prophet Eric Butler) 4/21/17)
