#125 Our Strategic Role

Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: The prayer warrior stands between the authority and power of heaven and the darkness and power of hell, between the Lamb on the throne and Satan, the great dragon.

Christ has delegated to the prayer warrior His authority, the right to use His name and plead His blood. And He has armed the warrior for spiritual conquest. The prayer warrior is to enforce the victory of Calvary on the battlefield of earth.
(Google image, Be a prayer Warrior).

The best way to fight against sin and Satan is by prayer warfare. The prayer battlefield is the arena of world conquest for the church.  O. Hallesby wrote:

"The secret prayer chamber is a bloody battleground.
Here violent and decisive battles are fought out. Here
the fate for souls for time and eternity is determined,
in quietude and solitude. (Bloesch, Struggle of Prayer, p. 135).

Through the prayer warfare of the interceding believer, Christ takes His stand on earth's spiritual battlefields. The church on its knees, the church wrestling and agonizing in prayer, the church with the shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, praying always with all forms and levels of prayer under the generalship of the Holy Spirit—this is the militant host of God on earth.

In the invisible realm of the heavens, the mighty angels of God join us by battling the forces of darkness unseen by our eyes, but fighting in awesome reality. It is holy, all-out, victorious war for Christ, but all through prayer.

Christ's messengers are covered by God's canopy of protection, and unseen by real dangers intended by Satan are warded off by prayer. Satan's weapons are blunted, vaporized, and evaporated by the divine laser beams of prayer.

Outer defenses of the bastions of Satan are breached, fortresses are pulverized and leveled, and captives of sin and Satan are set free by the power of Jesus as the warrior-saints pray on.

Hatreds are calmed, angers and determined evil and violence are brought under control, and the captives of Satan's forces are forcibly freed by the invincible power of the love of Calvary.

Satan's demons are made either to surrender to the Lord, against whom they have fought so long and hard, or else to retreat. They are made captives by the power of Calvary and the powers of the Spirit as the warrior-saints prevail on.

Prayer-

Praying for someone
Father, the truth that the prayer warrior stands between the authority and power of heaven and the darkness and power of hell, between the Lamb on the throne and Satan, the great dragon, is a challenge for us to take seriously.
Help us remember that it's through the prayer warfare of the interceding believer, that Christ can take His stand on earth's spiritual battlefields.
May we remember that we, as Christ's messengers, are covered by Your canopy of protection against the real dangers intended by Satan, which are warded off by our prayers.
Help us be faithful in our warrior-like prevailing prayers, to take captive our enemy by the power of Calvary!
We ask this in the name of Jesus, our Savior, that His kingdom may soon come. Amen.

Today's Bible verse-

(Ezek. 11:20 KJV) "That they may walk in my statues, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God."

(Job 34:21 KJV) "For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings."

(Ps. 130:1 KJV) "Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD."

Today's quote-

Larry Lea- "As soldiers in God's army, we too must be trained to move through the panic to the place of action. We must confront worry for what it is—a trick of the enemy that delays us, saps our spiritual energy, stalls our efforts and immobilizes God's people. we must make a conscious, determined decision not to worry at the first word of an emergency or a problem." (Taken from p. 113 of his book, THE WEAPONS OF OUR WARFARE, Equipping Yourself to Defeat the Enemy).

Today's questions-

So, what is biblical manhood? Do men realize that they have the responsibility to have the initiative to step up to various problems and to exhibit determination to bring solutions? If the man is married, will he become a man who is willing to serve others, and give himself unreservedly to wife and family? Does the man guard his tongue, determined to have self control in his daily life? Will he press in to know the Lord of glory, to learn what His directives are for himself, family and others? Is he submissive to godly men and their leadership in a Bible-believing church group, for training in how to become a man of character?

In the beginning, in the garden of Eden, God gave Adam responsibility of tending and caring for what was created for his benefit. It has not ceased to this day, for man is responsible for following God's directives as the one who takes control, leading with good character qualities.
Passivity, indifference about what he should be doing, causes his detachment from real needs and their solutions, thus leaving others to try to accomplish what his insensitivity causes.
The men who are surrendered to God's leadership will bring victory and honor to Him, leading in high moral character, as they obediently submit to God's original plan for man. They'll lead out and be the ones to take control of situations and needs. (Taken from notes of Pastor Ben's sermon, Biblical Manhood, at CFC Madrid on Sunday).
