Dr. Wesley L. Duewel: "God has created each of us with the power of choice and a will of our own.
Human will in one or more people may seem almost to eliminate the prayer answer you seek. It is almost impossible to predict the psychological working of minds and even more impossible to influence or control them.
People can be obstinate, stubborn, and resistant to all suggestions and change.
Over and over God called Israel stiff-necked. Moses agreed that Israel was stiff-necked. (Perhaps today we would term this attitude one of being bullheaded or pigheaded.)
Ambition, pride, jealousy, envy, and even hatred can poison minds and hearts. People not only become inflexible by habit and deaf to all entreaty, but they can become hardened by sin.
What will it take, you ask, to change some person's attitude or decision?

Let's pray-
Father, our thoughts are mixed today, as there are some who seem to be determined to not allow You to work in their lives.
Today’s Bible verse-
(Zeph. 2:7 b) "The LORD their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity."
Today’s quote-
"Prayer is not simply petition, but strenuous petition. It is not just passive surrender by active pleading with God. It involves not only submission to the will of God but seeking to change his will. It consists not merely in reflection on the promises of God but in taking hold of these promises (see Isa. 64:7) [The Struggle of Prayer by Donald G. Bloesch, p. 2]
Father, our thoughts are mixed today, as there are some who seem to be determined to not allow You to work in their lives.
It may very well be that we'll need to be persistent in our requests on their behalf, and to not give up.
May our hearts be touched with love for them, and may we seek to know what Your will is for our involvement with them.
It is for sure that You love them more than we do, so we are going to keep praying for their attitudes to change towards You and Your will for them.
I pray this in Jesus' name. Amen.
